Why are there always a lot of blood clots during menstruation?

There are always many blood clots during menstruation, which may be caused by normal phenomena, endometrial polyps, uterine fibroids and other reasons.

1. Normal phenomenon: Menstruation is mainly caused by the periodic shedding of the endometrium caused by changes in hormone levels in the body. When the hormone levels in the body change greatly and promote the shedding of the endometrium, blood clots may appear in menstruation. If there are no other uncomfortable symptoms, this situation is normal and does not require special treatment.

2. Endometrial polyps: The cause is still unclear. It may be due to inflammatory stimulation or high estrogen levels, which can lead to excessive growth of endometrial stroma and increase menstrual volume. Due to the increase in menstrual volume, blood clots may form due to retention. You can have hysteroscopic polypectomy or curettage, or hysterectomy.

3. Uterine fibroids: can be caused by genetics, sex hormone levels, stem cell mutations, etc. If the uterine fibroids are large, it will cause the endometrium to expand, and it will also cause increased menstrual volume, prolonged menstrual period, and blood clots during menstruation. Uterine fibroid stripping or hysterectomy can be used for treatment.

In addition to the above reasons, you may also suffer from cervical cancer, which can be treated through surgery such as lesion resection or hysterectomy.
