How to Check for Ectopic Pregnancy

How to check for ectopic pregnancy?

A typical ectopic pregnancy has a history of menopause, sometimes spotting and small amounts of bleeding. Common symptoms are abdominal pain. Sudden abdominal pain is caused by the rupture of the ectopic pregnancy. Ultrasound examination shows that there is no gestational sac or intrauterine mass in the uterus. This is a typical ectopic pregnancy.

The details are as follows:

1. Treatment of abdominal pain: Emergency ectopic pregnancy. Due to the treatment and examination of menopausal abdominal pain, ultrasound examination is generally performed. The simplest is to use a pregnancy test stick to determine whether the pregnancy is confirmed. It may be considered that the patient has an ectopic pregnancy rupture and requires emergency treatment.

2. Treatment of bleeding: There is a history of menopause, but there is endless bleeding, negative urine pregnancy test, elevated blood HCG value, B-ultrasound shows no gestational sac in the uterus and no extrauterine mass. Sometimes the pregnancy is too short, as short as 35-36 days, and only the HCG value is elevated, accompanied by endless bleeding, ectopic pregnancy should also be considered.

Note that the examination of ectopic pregnancy relies on ultrasound to indicate an extrauterine mass, elevated HCG values in blood tests, or ultrasound indicating no gestational sac in the uterus, and poor growth of HCG in dynamic examinations. It is generally monitored for 48 hours in early pregnancy. Normal HCG values double, while ectopic pregnancy does not double. The examination of ectopic pregnancy mainly focuses on symptoms and menopausal history, elevated HCG values, and ultrasound examination results.
