Where is the pain in adnexitis?

The pain of adnexitis is mainly located in the lower abdomen of women, on both sides of the uterus. This is because the ovaries and fallopian tubes are located in this area, and when they become inflamed, they will cause pain in this area.

The pain may feel different from person to person, but it usually comes in the following flavors:

1. Bilateral lower abdominal pain: This is the most common pain manifestation. Patients may feel pain on both sides of the lower abdomen, and sometimes the pain on one side may be more obvious than the other. This pain may be continuous or intermittent, but it usually lasts for a period of time.

2. Unilateral abdominal pain: Some patients may feel abdominal pain on only one side, which is usually due to inflammation of the ovary or fallopian tube on that side. This pain may worsen over time and may also be aggravated by pressure.

3. Lumbar pain: Since adnexitis is a type of pelvic inflammatory disease, when inflammation affects the muscles near the uterus, it may also cause lumbar pain. This pain may be more obvious when the patient is active or exercising.

The pain of adnexitis may vary depending on the severity and duration of the inflammation and individual differences in the patient. If you feel persistent pain or discomfort in the lower abdomen or lumbosacral area, it is recommended to seek medical attention in a timely manner.
