What are the three degrees of uterine prolapse?

There are three degrees of uterine prolapse: first, second, and third.

Uterine prolapse refers to a condition in which the uterus moves downward from its normal position and even out of the vaginal opening. Depending on the degree of uterine prolapse, uterine prolapse can be divided into three degrees.

First-stage uterine prolapse is the mildest condition, where the uterus has only dropped a little, but has not yet fallen out of the vaginal opening. The symptoms at this stage may not be very obvious, and many women may just feel a little heaviness in the lower abdomen, or the symptoms may worsen after fatigue.

Second degree uterine prolapse means that the uterus has dropped to the vaginal opening, or even part of the uterus has slipped out of the vaginal opening. The symptoms at this stage are more obvious, and women may feel a foreign body sensation in the vagina, a distended lower abdomen, or even difficulty urinating or incontinence.

Third degree uterine prolapse is the most serious, with the entire uterus protruding out of the vaginal opening and exposed to the outside of the body. This stage not only has obvious symptoms, but also affects daily life. Patients will feel severe discomfort, accompanied by lower abdominal pain, frequent urination, urgency, and difficulty urinating. In severe cases, it may also cause urinary tract infections.

There are many reasons for uterine prolapse, such as long-term heavy physical labor, childbirth injuries, chronic cough, obesity, etc., which can increase the risk of uterine prolapse. As you age, the relaxation of the pelvic floor muscles may also lead to uterine prolapse.

Treatments for uterine prolapse vary depending on the severity of the condition. Mild uterine prolapse can be treated conservatively with pelvic floor muscle exercises and wearing a pessary. Severe uterine prolapse may require surgical treatment, such as a uterine suspension or hysterectomy.

No matter what treatment method is adopted, it must be carried out under the guidance of a doctor. Common treatment drugs include estradiol valerate tablets, Dafutong tablets, mifepristone tablets, etc., but the specific medication method and dosage must be determined by the doctor according to the specific situation.

Although uterine prolapse is a common disease, it is not incurable. Through early prevention and timely treatment, symptoms can be effectively relieved and the quality of life can be improved.
