Will it hurt if a woman has cervical erosion? The three major symptoms of cervical erosion in women

Cervical erosion is not common with pain symptoms. When the pathogens are involved in a deeper range, it can cause chronic paracervical connective tissue inflammation, lumbar pain, pelvic pain and dysmenorrhea. If the inflammation spreads to the main ligament, sexual intercourse pain may occur, affecting sexual life; however, the viscous purulent secretions of the cervix are not conducive to the passage of sperm and can cause infertility.

1. Symptoms and hazards of cervical erosion

The cervical erosion seen clinically is not actually true erosion. When the epidermis of the external cervical os falls off and is replaced by the columnar epithelial tissue of the cervical os, the new epithelium covering the surface is so thin that blood vessels and red tissue underneath can even be seen, which looks like real erosion, so it is called cervical erosion.

2. Three major symptoms of cervical erosion:

1. Increased leucorrhea Increased leucorrhea is the main symptom of cervical erosion, and sometimes even the only symptom. Due to the different pathogens, as well as the differences in the scope and degree of erosion, the properties of leucorrhea are also different. If the inflammatory infection is not obvious, the leucorrhea will mainly be transparent mucus; if the cervical erosion is accompanied by obvious inflammatory infection, the leucorrhea will be yellow, purulent and viscous. If the erosion area is small or the lesion is shallow, the amount of leucorrhea may be less; if it is a severe erosion with a deeper lesion and a larger area, the amount of leucorrhea will be more, and occasionally it may contain a small amount of blood or blood. Some patients may sometimes complain of contact bleeding.

2. Pain. Pain symptoms are rare in cervical erosion. When the pathogens spread to a deeper area, it can cause chronic paracervical connective tissue inflammation, lumbar pain, pelvic pain and dysmenorrhea. If the inflammation spreads to the main ligament, sexual intercourse pain may occur, affecting sexual life.

3. Bladder symptoms: Inflammation of the cervix can spread or directly spread to the bladder triangle, thereby stimulating the bladder and causing symptoms of frequent urination and painful urination, and sometimes can also cause secondary urinary tract infection.

After suffering from cervical erosion, the amount of leucorrhea will increase and become thicker, and occasionally there may be purulent or bloody leucorrhea. It is often accompanied by low back pain, abdominal pain, and a feeling of heaviness in the lower abdomen. Contact bleeding may also occur during sexual intercourse, and the appearance of odor is also very likely.

Mild cervical erosion usually does not cause obvious symptoms to the patient, and the patient may only feel a slight increase in vaginal discharge, so it is easily ignored. Experts say that many patients' cervical erosion is discovered during gynecological examinations or when they go to the doctor for other gynecological diseases. Patients usually do not find the symptoms of cervical erosion themselves.

The most obvious symptoms of moderate and severe cervical erosion patients are: increased leucorrhea, yellow and sticky, or blood streaks in the leucorrhea, and contact bleeding in a few patients. Inflammatory secretions stimulate the vulva for a long time and can also cause vulvar pruritus. In addition, because the cervical lymphatics are directly connected to the paracervical connective tissue, inflammation can spread to the pelvic cavity through the lymphatic circulation, causing pelvic connective tissue inflammation, lumbar and sacral pain, and symptoms such as lower abdominal distension. In addition, the viscous purulent secretions of the cervix are not conducive to the passage of sperm and can cause infertility.

I would like to remind you again that preventing diseases from happening during regular physical examinations is also one of the key points for early detection of diseases. It is a kind of responsibility for yourself and your own health; if you find a disease, go to a regular hospital in time for treatment to achieve better treatment results and quickly cure the disease! I wish you good health.
