How do women differentiate and diagnose cervical erosion? Some common sense in diagnosing cervical erosion

Cervical erosion is a very familiar gynecological disease for women, and it also seriously threatens women's physical and mental health. After cervical erosion occurs, leucorrhea often increases and becomes thicker, and occasionally purulent or bloody leucorrhea may also appear. Backache, abdominal pain, and a heavy feeling in the lower abdomen are also often accompanied. It may also cause contact bleeding during sex, and the appearance of odor is also very likely.

In fact, cervical erosion is not an independent disease, but a manifestation of chronic cervicitis. Moreover, cervical erosion is not actually a real erosion. When the epidermis of the external cervical os falls off and is replaced by another epithelial tissue of the cervical os, the new epithelium covering the surface is thin, and even the blood vessels and red tissue underneath can be seen, which looks like real erosion, so it is called cervical erosion. In fact, this is not real erosion.

Cervical erosion usually occurs due to childbirth, miscarriage, postpartum infection, or surgical operation or mechanical stimulation such as sexual intercourse that damages the cervix, causing infection caused by pathogen invasion. Although cervical erosion is common in married women, it does not mean that unmarried women have no possibility of cervical erosion.

After cervical erosion occurs, the amount of leucorrhea often increases and becomes thicker, and occasionally there may be purulent or bloody leucorrhea. It is often accompanied by low back pain, abdominal pain, and a feeling of heaviness in the lower abdomen. It may also cause contact bleeding during sex, and the appearance of an odor is also very likely.

Cervical erosion and pregnancy

Generally speaking, cervical secretions will increase significantly and become thicker than before. Since they contain a large number of white blood cells, when sperm passes through the cervix, the inflammatory environment will reduce the vitality of sperm, and the thick secretions will also make it difficult for sperm to pass through. Inflammatory cells will also devour a large number of sperm, and the remaining sperm will be destroyed by bacteria and their toxins.

If there is also E. coli infection, it will also cause sperm to produce strong agglutination, making the sperm lose its vitality. The above various toxic effects on sperm cause sperm to consume too much energy and shorten their lifespan, which not only has a certain impact on sperm activity, but also hinders sperm from entering the uterine cavity, thus ultimately reducing the chance of sperm and egg combination. Therefore, in general, the fertility of people with cervical erosion is generally lower than that of normal people. But will cervical erosion definitely lead to infertility? The answer is of course no. In fact, whether it will lead to infertility depends on your specific situation.

If cervical erosion is not treated actively, the chance of malignant tumors will increase. Therefore, active treatment must be taken when cervical erosion is found. Currently, the most commonly used method for treating cervical erosion is local treatment, such as laser therapy, microwave therapy, etc., which have a high cure rate.

But if you are health-conscious, you must be very concerned about whether such treatment will affect future pregnancy. Although any treatment will cause some damage to the body, if the doctor is skilled in the operation and has a moderate control over the breadth and depth of the operation, the impact of laser or microwave treatment on fertility is minimal, and it is also applicable to unmarried women.

You need to be reminded that after various physical treatments, vaginal secretions will increase, a large amount of light yellow liquid will be discharged, and there may also be a small amount of bleeding. Therefore, within one month after treatment, you should avoid having sex, taking a bath and vaginal douching, otherwise it will greatly increase the chance of infection.
