Symptoms and causes of female cervicitis Introduction to the three major treatment methods for female cervicitis

Cervicitis is a female gynecological disease that we are familiar with. We must conduct timely examination and treatment after the disease. Patients with cervicitis should also pay attention to abnormal conditions in their bodies, especially the increase in leucorrhea.

Causes of cervicitis

1. Unclean sexual life. Unmarried women are protected by the barrier of the hymen, and the microecological environment in the vagina is in balance. Even if there are pathogens invading, it is difficult to cause trouble, so cervicitis rarely occurs. Once you have sex, the vagina is relatively in an "open" state. During sex, the penis and the cervix are in direct contact. If men do not pay attention to sexual hygiene, they can directly bring pathogens into the vagina and infect the cervix. For women who have cervical erosion, it can aggravate their cervical inflammation and expand the erosion surface. In severe cases, bleeding may occur during sex, so cervical erosion is the fault of men. Therefore, you must persuade men to clean their external genitalia before sex.

2. Multiple artificial abortions. More importantly, repeated artificial abortions can cause varying degrees of cervical damage, giving bacteria an opportunity to invade and cause cervicitis. Due to the stimulation of inflammation, local secretions increase, and the cervix will be immersed in inflammatory secretions for a long time, which will cause erosion. Therefore, women of childbearing age must do a good job of contraception, avoid multiple artificial abortions, and prevent the occurrence of cervicitis.

3. Excessive cleaning. Some women pay great attention to hygiene, but lack the necessary knowledge. They often use high concentrations of disinfectant to wash the vagina, which is counterproductive. This is because it will not only affect the growth of normal vaginal flora and reduce its ability to inhibit bacteria, but also cause varying degrees of damage to the cervical epithelium, and eventually erosion. Therefore, the correct way to clean the genitals should be: properly clean the vulva, do not wash the vagina unless necessary, maintain the natural defense line of the female reproductive tract, do not destroy the ecological balance in the vagina, and do not let bacteria stir up trouble.

4. Menstruation lasts too long. Cervicitis is related to the menstrual cycle and the number of days it lasts. Women with short cycles and long durations are more likely to develop cervical erosion. The incidence of inflammation can be reduced by extending the cycle and shortening the menstrual period.

5. Multiple sexual partners, excessive sexual activity (more than 4 times a week), sexual activity during menstruation, etc. are also causes of cervicitis that cannot be ignored.

6. Pathogen infection: Some pathogens such as Escherichia coli, Streptococcus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus, etc. can cause purulent inflammation, thereby causing cervicitis.

Symptoms of cervicitis

1. The main symptom of early cervicitis is increased vaginal discharge, which is sometimes the only symptom. Sometimes the symptoms of chronic cervicitis are that the secretions may contain blood or a small amount of blood, and there may also be contact bleeding. The stimulation of vaginal discharge can cause vulvar itching.

2. Pain: When the inflammation spreads along the uterosacral ligament to the pelvic cavity, there may be pain in the lumbar sacral region, a feeling of heaviness in the lower abdomen, and dysmenorrhea, which are aggravated during bowel movements and sexual intercourse.

3. Bladder and intestinal symptoms: Chronic cervicitis can spread through the lymphatic channels or directly spread to the bladder triangle or the connective tissue around the bladder. As a result, as soon as there is urine in the bladder, there will be a urge to defecate, and symptoms of frequent urination or difficulty urinating will appear, but the urine is clear and the routine urine test is normal.

4. Symptoms of cervicitis: Under the long-term stimulation of inflammation, the cervical mucosa proliferates locally. Due to the rejection of the uterus, the proliferating mucosa gradually protrudes from the cervical opening, forming polyps of cervicitis. When polyps are formed, bloody leucorrhea or bleeding after sexual intercourse may occur.

Treatment of cervicitis

1. Western medicine treatment: Patients need to pay attention to keeping the vulva clean at ordinary times. At the same time, they also need to take a sitz bath with 1:5000 potassium permanganate solution under the doctor's paper bag. Because of the increase in endocrine, patients need to change underwear frequently. Generally, the use of gynecological suppositories is more effective. At the same time, it is necessary to temporarily prohibit sexual intercourse and tub baths after taking the medicine.

2. Chinese medicine fumigation: The drugs needed include Cnidium monnieri, Sophora flavescens, Alumen, and Phellodendron chinense. The method of use is to decoct all the herbs in water. After the fumigation is completed, the internal drugs can be used for treatment.

3. Microwave therapy: Microwave therapy is only used for patients with moderate to severe chronic cervicitis. The energy in it can heat the lesion to a temperature slightly higher than body temperature after consumption, which can accelerate blood circulation and cause the death of pathogenic microorganisms, causing the diseased tissue to degenerate, shrink, and fall off. This can promote the recovery of the lesion. For patients with moderate cervicitis, this therapy is the first choice in clinical treatment.
