Causes of irregular menstruation in women Occupational factors affecting women's menstruation

Many women's issues

There are two reasons for irregular menstruation:

1. Organic diseases or drugs: including local inflammation, tumors, developmental abnormalities, malnutrition, intracranial diseases, thyroid and adrenal cortex dysfunction, diabetes, Sheehan's disease and other endocrine dysfunctions; liver disease, blood disease, etc. Using drugs to treat mental illness; endocrine preparations or intrauterine contraceptive devices may cause irregular menstruation. Some occupations such as long-distance runners are prone to amenorrhea. In addition, some abnormal bleeding during pregnancy is often mistaken for irregular menstruation.

2. Neuroendocrine dysfunction: mainly the instability or defect of the lower brain-stomach-ovary axis, that is, menstrual diseases.

Female workers working in factories may be exposed to some industrial drugs, especially those engaged in the production of chemical raw materials, artificial fibers or the manufacture of carbon tetrachloride, cellophane and other products, who may be exposed to toxic substances such as toluene, xylene and carbon disulfide.

Carbon disulfide increases the chances of miscarriage in women. Gasoline can also cause menstrual cycle disorders, aggravate menopausal symptoms in menopausal women, and induce pregnancy poisoning.

Therefore, women working in rubber, artificial leather, paint, dye, pharmaceuticals, printing, etc. suffer from gynecological diseases such as abnormal menstruation.

General menstruation and diseases for healthcare workers

In addition, women working in flight services may also experience menstrual abnormalities such as early or delayed menstruation and secondary amenorrhea due to factors such as lack of oxygen at high altitudes, jet lag, and irregular lifestyles. This has become a pain that many stewardesses find difficult to talk about.

Vigorous exercise can delay menarche and easily lead to amenorrhea, especially for ballet dancers and female athletes. If girls receive regular professional training from around the age of 10, menarche can be postponed by 5 months every year. Girls who learn ballet from an early age can lose weight, delay puberty, and stop menstruating.

A foreign survey shows that a large proportion of female athletes under the age of 18 have menstrual abnormalities, most of which are manifested as late menstruation, irregular cycles, secondary amenorrhea, etc. Medical experts believe that this phenomenon is mainly due to the inhibition of hypothalamic function, preventing the hypothalamus from secreting progesterone-releasing hormone, interfering with the pituitary gland's release of gonadotropin in a normal cycle, leading to menstrual cycle disorders or amenorrhea.

Women who are frequently exposed to noise, radiation and mental stress may also experience menstrual abnormalities to varying degrees.

There are many occupational factors that affect women's menstruation. Women should strengthen labor protection, have regular physical examinations, and seek medical treatment in time if they find abnormal menstruation, find out the cause, and receive effective treatment; if necessary, change their occupation to ensure their health.
