What is subserosal uterine fibroids? What are the hazards of subserosal uterine fibroids?

I believe everyone knows about uterine fibroids, but many people may not know much about subserosal uterine fibroids. In fact, subserosal fibroids are a type of uterine fibroids, and the incidence of this type of uterine fibroids is relatively high. Therefore, today we will introduce subserosal fibroids.

Subserous myoma: When the intramural myoma of the uterus grows into the serosa layer on the surface of the uterus, so that the surface of the myoma is only covered with a small amount of muscle wall and serosa, it is called a subserous myoma. When the myoma continues to grow under the serosa, there is only one pedicle connected to the uterine wall. Subserous myoma (pedunculated myoma). Myomas grow on both sides of the uterus and in the broad ligaments on both sides of the uterus. (intraligamentary myoma), this type of myoma usually compresses the nearby ureters, bladder and iliac blood vessels, and causes corresponding symptoms and signs. Pedicled myomas can be twisted. Due to blood obstruction, the myoma pedicle breaks and falls off in the pelvic and abdominal cavities, and the tumor necrotizes.

If the detached myoma adheres to adjacent organs such as the greater omentum and mesentery, thereby obtaining blood supply, it is called a parasitic myoma or a migratory myoma. Subserosal myomas account for 20% to 30% of the total number of myomas. Because the myomas protrude outward and enlarge the uterus, they have an irregular shape, an uneven surface, and are nodular. Pedicled subserosal myomas can be touched in any part of the uterus and are movable solid tumors. Broad ligament myomas can be touched next to the uterus and have limited mobility.

Although subserosal fibroids are only a type of uterine fibroids, they account for 20% to 30% of uterine fibroids. Therefore, we should also pay full attention to subserosal uterine fibroids and then actively treat them.
