Are uterine fibroids benign tumors? What are the symptoms of uterine fibroids?

Tumors are diverse, and different tumors have different symptoms. The symptoms of tumors are one aspect that doctors focus on. So, what are uterine fibroids? What are the symptoms? Uterine fibroids are the most common benign tumors in the female reproductive organs and one of the most common tumors in the human body. They are also called fibroids and uterine fibroids. Because uterine fibroids are mainly composed of the proliferation of uterine smooth muscle cells and a small amount of fibrous connective tissue exists as supporting tissue, they are more accurately called uterine leiomyoma. Uterine fibroids.

The cause of uterine fibroids is still unclear and may involve a more complex interaction between normal myometrial cell mutations, sex hormones, and local growth factors. Symptoms of uterine fibroids include:

(1) Uterine bleeding: It is the main symptom of uterine fibroids, and more than half of the patients suffer from it. Among them, cyclical bleeding is more common, which can be manifested as increased menstruation, prolonged menstruation or shortened cycle.

(2) Abdominal mass and compression symptoms: Fibroids grow gradually. When the uterus is enlarged for more than 3 months or the fibroids are located under the larger serosa at the bottom of the uterus, the abdominal mass can usually be felt and is more obvious in the morning when the bladder is full. The mass is substantial, movable, and non-tender.

(3) Pain: Generally speaking, uterine fibroids do not cause pain, but many patients may feel lower abdominal swelling and back pain. When the pedicle of a subserosal fibroid is twisted or the uterine fibroid undergoes red degeneration, acute abdominal pain will occur. Endometriosis or adenomyosis is also common, and dysmenorrhea may occur.

(4) Increased leucorrhea: Increased uterine cavity, increased endometrial glands, and pelvic congestion can increase leucorrhea. When the uterus or cervical submucosal fibroids ulcerate, become infected, or necrotic, bloody or purulent leucorrhea will be produced.
