What is uterine fibroid? First, let's understand where it occurs. More than 90% of uterine fibroids grow in the uterine body, and only a few (4-8%) occur in the cervix, mainly in the posterior lip. In the body, it grows much longer than the uterine fundus, followed by the posterior wall, the anterior wall is half less than the posterior wall, and the sides are the least. In terms of fibroid types, intramural fibroids are the most common, followed by subserosal fibroids, and submucosal fibroids are relatively rare. What is uterine fibroids? Uterine fibroids, also known as uterine leiomyoma, are the most common benign tumors of the female genitalia. Most are asymptomatic, and a few present with vaginal bleeding, abdominal contact with the tumor, and compression symptoms. For example, pedicle torsion or other conditions can cause pain, which is common in multiple uterine fibroids. Uterine fibroids are solid spherical masses with smooth or concave-convex surfaces. The cross section is a white spiral line with slight unevenness. The lines are formed by the fibroid tissue in the fibroid. The hardness of the fibroid depends on the fibroid tissue composition. The more fibroid tissue there is, the whiter and harder the fibroid is. On the contrary, if there are more smooth muscle cells and less fibrous tissue in the fibroids, the color of the fibroid section is not much different from that of the uterine muscle wall, and the quality is soft. There is a thin capsule on the surface of the fibroids, forming a pseudocapsule of the fibroids, which is composed of connective tissue bundles and muscle fiber bundles of the muscle wall around the fibroids. The connection between the capsule and the fibroids is loose, and it is easy to peel the fibroids from the muscle wall. There are radioactive blood vessel branches in the capsule to supply blood nutrition to the fibroids. The larger the fibroids, the thicker the blood vessels and the greater the number. In the center of the fibroids, when the diameter of the fibroids exceeds 4, the blood vessel branches are reduced by more than cm, and the center of the fibroids is prone to degeneration. What is uterine fibroids? It is a common gynecological disease. Once discovered, it must be treated promptly to prevent it from worsening and threatening life. |
