What are multiple uterine fibroids? What causes multiple uterine fibroids?

Multiple uterine fibroids are the most common benign tumors in the female reproductive system. They are usually multiple and appear on the uterus in different ways. So, how are multiple uterine fibroids caused? The exact cause is unclear. The cause of multiple uterine fibroids is unclear, but it may be related to excessive estrogen levels in the body and long-term estrogen stimulation.

Multiple uterine fibroids are the most common benign tumors in the female reproductive system, usually occurring between the ages of 35 and 50. According to statistics, about 20% of women over the age of 35 have uterine fibroids, but most patients do not find them because the fibroids are small and have no symptoms. Clinically, the incidence of fibroids is only between 4% and 11%. The cause is still unclear, but it may be related to the following symptoms:

1. Exogenous estrogen can accelerate the growth of fibroids;

2. Endometrial hyperplasia with concurrent myomas;

3. During pregnancy, estrogen levels increase and fibroids grow rapidly;

Patients with ovarian granulosa cell tumors and theca cell tumors (which can secrete estrogen) often have uterine fibroids.

5. Occasionally seen in women after menarche, more common in middle-aged women. After menopause, fibroids usually stop growing and gradually shrink;

Although surgery for this disease can better protect women's uterus in the early stages of the disease, it can still cause some damage, so it is very important to do a good job of preventing multiple uterine fibroids. Women should avoid abortions, because the number of abortions can lead to uterine fibroids, so couples should actively take contraceptive measures to try to avoid or reduce the number of abortions. In addition, preventive measures for multiple uterine fibroids also include regular follow-up visits to the hospital. If uterine fibroids are found, they should generally be reexamined within 3 to 6 months. If the fibroids are significantly enlarged and bleeding is severe, surgical treatment should be performed.
