What should be paid attention to before uterine fibroid surgery? How to take care of uterine fibroids with diet

Generally speaking, there are many precautions before surgery. Some surgeries prohibit eating 12 hours before surgery. Dietary requirements are part of the preparation period before surgery. So, what are the dietary requirements before uterine fibroid surgery?

Uterine fibroids, also known as uterine leiomyoma, are the most common benign tumors of the female genitalia. Most are asymptomatic, but a few present with vaginal bleeding, abdominal tumors, and compression symptoms. If the pedicle is twisted or other conditions occur, it can cause pain. Common in multiple uterine fibroids

If the size of the fibroid is more than 6 cm, especially if it causes compression symptoms on the surrounding organs, surgical treatment can be performed. In addition, if the fibroid grows rapidly, the tumor protrudes from the abdominal cavity and tends to twist, surgical resection should also be performed. Of course, when deciding on surgery, other indications should also be considered, such as severe anemia, heart disease, and general condition.

The requirements for patients with uterine fibroids before surgery are as follows:

Eat a light diet and avoid eating irritating foods such as mutton, shrimp, crab, eel, salted fish, and black fish.

2. Avoid consuming irritating foods and drinks, such as alcohol and white wine.

3. Avoid eating foods that are hot, blood-clotting, or contain hormones, such as longan, red dates, donkey-hide gelatin, and royal jelly.

4. Before the operation, it is recommended to eat a light diet, such as fish, pork, chicken, fruits and vegetables. Do not touch spicy food, and do not drink soy milk, royal jelly, etc. Avoid snow clam.

5. Eat more lean meat, chicken, eggs, quail eggs, crucian carp, turtle, white fish, cabbage, asparagus, celery, spinach, cucumber, winter melon, mushrooms, tofu, kelp, seaweed, fruits, etc.

The treatment of uterine fibroids in the operating room needs to be combined with many factors, one of which is whether the patient has fertility needs. Therefore, the patient must communicate with the attending physician before the operation.
