Traditional Chinese medicine believes that menopausal discomfort can be improved through these means

Menopause is very special for women, because after entering menopause, the ovarian function decreases, estrogen secretion decreases, endocrine disorders occur, and autonomic nervous system function is disturbed, which will cause facial paroxysmal hot flashes, mood swings, insomnia, limb numbness, vulvar itching and other discomforts. Traditional Chinese medicine believes that menopausal discomfort is mainly caused by kidney deficiency and yin and yang imbalance. Chinese massage or moxibustion can be used to regulate endocrine and restore autonomic nervous system function, thereby improving symptoms.

Acupoints on the hands <br/>There are 12 meridians in the human body, 6 of which pass through the hands. Therefore, massaging the corresponding reflex areas and acupoints on the hands can help treat diseases. For menopausal women who want to relieve menopausal discomfort, they can massage the corresponding reflex areas on the hands, such as the reproductive area, liver and gallbladder area, spleen area, stomach area, head and neck area, etc.
1. For insomnia and forgetfulness, you can massage the Laogong acupoint on the palm of your hand. When massaging, you can first press the Laogong acupoint on the palm of your left thumb with the tip of your left thumb, and massage it in a clockwise direction with a little force until the local skin becomes congested and hot. Then switch to the other hand. Finally, rub the entire palm, and rub the palms of both hands against each other to make them hot. This massage method can promote blood circulation throughout the body, which is conducive to a good mood and promotes sleep.

2. For dizziness, headache, tinnitus, menstrual disorders, deafness, and irritability, massage the Hegu, Quchi, and Yangxi acupoints. The Hegu acupoint is located at the base of the thumb on the back of the hand, between the first and second metacarpal bones, and at the midpoint of the radial side of the second metacarpal bone. The Yangxi acupoint is located on the radial side of the horizontal line on the back of the wrist. If you lift your thumb upward, you will find a depression where the thumb and wrist meet. This is the Yangxi acupoint. The Quchi acupoint is located at the bend of the elbow, and there is a depression on the radial side of the horizontal line.
3. For heartache, palpitations, insomnia, abdominal pain, bloating, heel pain, etc., massage Shenmen, Daling, and Yinxi acupoints. Shenmen acupoint is located on the wrist, in the depression at the ulnar end of the transverse line. Daling acupoint is located in the depression in the middle of the transverse line on the front of the wrist. Yinxi acupoint belongs to the acupoint of the Shaoyin Heart Meridian of the Hand, located on the forearm, on the radial edge of the ulnar wrist flexor tendon, half an inch above the transverse wrist line.

Leg Acupoints <br/>You can also relieve menopausal symptoms by doing a leg massage or leg bath.
Soothing the liver and relieving depression: You can use some medicines to bathe your legs. It is best to do it under the guidance of a professional doctor. Choose medicines such as angelica, bupleurum, gardenia, papaya, etc. After boiling the medicine, use it to soak your legs, and massage the Yanglingquan point, Yinlingquan point, and Taichong point at the same time. The Yanglingquan point is located in the depression below the anterior fibula. The Yinlingquan point is located on the inner side of the calf, in the depression below the medial condyle of the tibia. The Taichong point is located on the dorsum of the foot, in the depression between the first metatarsal and the second metatarsal.
To nourish the kidney and improve the essence: Generally, under the guidance of a professional Chinese medicine practitioner, choose Cuscuta, Lycium barbarum, and cinnamon, and decoct the liquid to bathe the legs. At the same time, massage the Jiaoxin point, Yongquan point, or Fuliu point. The Jiaoxin point is located on the inner side of the calf, two inches above the Taixi point. The Yongquan point is located on the sole of the foot, in the concave area of the front part of the foot, the head of the toe seam between the second and third metatarsal toes, and the first third of the line connecting the heel. The Yongquan point is the lowest acupoint in the whole body and is the primary acupoint for kidney essence.

Umbilical acupoints <br/>Umbilical therapy is to apply prepared medicines directly to the navel, or use moxibustion on the navel to dredge the flow of Qi in the meridians, thereby promoting Qi and blood circulation, achieving the effect of regulating the internal organs, and can effectively relieve menopausal symptoms.
Moxibustion of the navel to treat menopausal syndrome is usually done under the professional guidance of a Chinese medicine practitioner. The Shenque point (navel fossa) is selected, and equal parts of Chinese medicinal materials such as Rehmannia root, Cuscuta seed, Evodia rutaecarpa, Cistanche deserticola, and Clove are ground into powder, and the same amount of refined salt is added to mix well. The navel is filled with the mixed salt, and then the moxa stick is lit and placed on the salt. Moxibustion is performed for about 3 times until the moxibustion area becomes red. This method can have a good effect in relieving hot flashes, sweating, poor sleep, irritability, depression, fatigue, and abnormal skin sensation during menopause.
The above is an introduction to how Traditional Chinese Medicine regulates menopausal syndrome through acupoint massage or moxibustion. I hope it can help everyone.
