What are the types of multiple uterine fibroids?

Clinically, the incidence of multiple uterine fibroids is very high. Female friends need to pay more attention to this disease in their daily lives. They should actively learn about the relevant situation of uterine fibroids and strive for better prevention and treatment. So, what are the types of multiple uterine fibroids?

The classification of multiple uterine fibroids is that they originate from the myometrium of the uterus and develop in different directions after expansion. According to the different locations of uterine fibroids, they can be divided into the following categories:

1. Intramural leiomyoma is located in the inner wall of the muscle and is surrounded by muscle layer. It is the most common type at onset, accounting for 60-70%.

2. Subserosal leiomyoma and intramural leiomyoma develop into serosa and protrude on the surface of the uterus. They are in direct contact with the serum, accounting for about 20%. If they protrude between the lobes of the broad ligament, they are fibroids in the broad ligament. (Link: Treatment of uterine fibroids by age and size)

3. Submucosal leiomyoma and intramural leiomyoma grow into the uterine cavity and protrude from the uterine cavity. They are in direct contact with the mucosal layer, accounting for about 10%. This tumor can gradually enlarge and deform the uterine cavity, and often has a pedicle connected to the uterus. If the pedicle is long, it can block the cervical opening or vagina (vagina).

4. Cervical fibroids are rare. They grow in the neck. Because of their low growth position, they can be embedded in the pelvic cavity, causing compression symptoms. Surgical removal is difficult and can easily damage the ureter and bladder.

The types of multiple uterine fibroids are mainly the above types. If female friends find that they have symptoms of uterine fibroids, they need to choose a regular hospital to receive relevant treatment as soon as possible to avoid the adverse effects of uterine fibroids or even malignant transformation.
