The strongest relay in extreme sports without power outage! Five dream athletes appeared in the "Taiwan Mountain and Sea Extreme Relay"

The popularity of outdoor activities and extreme sports continues unabated across Taiwan. In recent years, more and more players have joined extreme sports to improve their athletic performance, overcome restrictions such as weather and space, and break through their personal limits. The popular brand of smart wearable devices has been combining indoor training and outdoor challenges to assist adventure players with special sports training plans to improve all-round sports performance and challenge unlimited potential. This year, it has joined hands with five top extreme athletes in Taiwan to create the unprecedented "Extreme Relay Across Taiwan's Mountains and Seas".

The dream team of the "Taiwan Mountain and Sea Extreme Relay" brings together the world's extreme strait long-distance swimmer Xu Wen'er, polar ultramarathon athlete Chen Yanbo, world 8,000-meter mountaineer Lu Zhonghan, Taiwan's bicycle mountaineering king Fan Yongyi and the former Asian record holder for finless constant-weight diving Huang Wenxiang. They will compete in five major events: sea swimming, long-distance running, mountaineering, cycling, and free diving, and will challenge to run across Taiwan from 11/7 to 11/14.

The Mountain and Sea Extreme Relay breaks through the limits, with innovative designs that challenge difficult routes that have never been tried before. It is inspired by the classic twin towers in cycling and combines the Central Mountain Range route with the start and end points to the open sea. The lowest altitude is 30 meters below sea level and the highest altitude is 3742 meters. The route spans the ocean, road, mountain and deep sea, challenging the endless potential of the athletes. The entire journey is expected to take 8 days, and the Garmin fēnix 8 watch will be used as a relay baton to keep the athletes connected throughout the journey. Five athletes will take turns to challenge the 4,000-meter altitude difference within 8 days to challenge their own limits.

The first baton of the extreme relay was started by Xu Wener from Keelung Island off the coast of Keelung to the main island, and then passed to the polar ultramarathon expert Chen Yanbo, who ran 160 kilometers along the coastline to the Shengguang trailhead of Taiwan 7A, and then passed to the world's 8000-meter mountaineer Lu Zhonghan to climb the famous 100 peaks of the Central Mountain Range, including Nanhu Dashan and Central Jianshan. After arriving at Dayuling, extreme triathlete Fan Yongyi rode a bicycle up Wuling, passed through Sun Moon Lake and Alishan, and then continued on the road south to Eluanbi Lighthouse. Finally, the baton was passed to finless diver Huang Wenxiang who dived into the 30-meter deep sea off the coast of Kenting to reach the finish line, challenging the athletes' endless imagination and skills and creating a new way to play Taiwan's outdoor extreme sports.

Xu Wen'er, the first person from Taiwan who has just successfully challenged the solo swimming across the English Channel, said that in the past, he had always challenged the ocean swimming alone. He cherished and was moved by the spirit of teamwork in the mountains and the sea, and took over the relay with the top athletes in various sports fields in Taiwan using the same fēnix 8 to complete such a difficult challenge. He will follow his favorite route to let more people know about this body of water and let the world see Taiwan.

Chen Yanbo, a polar ultramarathon expert who will take over from Xu Wen'er and run on the most beautiful ancient road route, successfully won the 230km ultramarathon in Kenya, Africa last month, said, "It's really crazy! It's beyond my imagination that so many top athletes from different fields can be gathered together to challenge the mountain and sea relay that runs through Taiwan. The route extends all the way to the open sea. The baton is actually a smart watch that can go up the mountains and down the sea without power outages. For me, the polar regions are a vision that allows me to see all kinds of faces of the world, and it also allows me to keep my original aspirations, to have no limits in life, and to be brave enough to face all kinds of challenges. I will be responsible for the 160km long-distance race, and welcome everyone who loves the beauty of Taiwan's mountains and forests to join my running team."
