Why do uterine fibroids recur?

Why do uterine fibroids recur? Uterine fibroids are a disease that is extremely harmful to women's bodies. This disease not only greatly harms the health of patients, but also has a great impact on the life and work of patients with uterine fibroids. Moreover, the disease also has a certain recurrence rate. So, why do uterine fibroids recur?

The reason why uterine fibroids recur is that after the uterine fibroids are removed, the pathogenic factors of the fibroids are still there, the fibroids remain after the operation, and small uterine fibroids are not removed, so there is a possibility of recurrence of the disease, but it is not necessarily the location of the primary fibroids. Therefore, women with uterine fibroids must have regular checkups after treatment to prevent the recurrence of uterine fibroids.

If the patient is not suitable to take supplements containing estrogen, the chance of fibroid recurrence may increase. Estrogen in the diet can affect the recurrence of uterine fibroids. Most recurrent uterine fibroids have no clinical symptoms. Therefore, for patients who have undergone uterine fibroid surgery, it cannot be assumed that the fibroids have been cured and they can rest easy from now on.

The recurrence rate of uterine fibroids is relatively high. Uterine fibroids can occur singly or multiple times, and the size of the fibroids varies. After surgical treatment of uterine fibroids, the recurrence rate of single fibroids is about 12%, and the recurrence rate of multiple fibroids is about 48%, and they usually recur about two years later.

Studies have shown that high-fat foods promote the secretion and storage of female estrogen after entering the human body, and the occurrence of uterine fibroids is related to endocrine disorders caused by long-term high estrogen levels. Therefore, patients should adjust their diet structure, adhere to a low-fat diet, eat more whole grains, and eat more fresh vegetables and fruits.
