What are the common symptoms of endometrial tuberculosis?

So what are the characteristics of endometrial tuberculosis?

1. Dysmenorrhea: Dysmenorrhea is one of the most common symptoms of endometriosis, with secondary and progressive dysmenorrhea as the main characteristics. Dysmenorrhea mostly occurs before and during menstruation, usually 1-2 days before menstruation, the most severe on the first day of menstruation, and the pain is relieved or even disappears after menstruation. The pain is mostly located in the lower abdomen and lumbar region, and can radiate to the vagina, perineum, anus, and thighs. The degree of pain is not necessarily proportional to the size of the lesion.

2. Menstrual disorders: A small number of patients may experience increased menstrual flow, prolonged menstruation or menstrual disorders. If the ovarian endometrial tuberculosis cyst ruptures, acute abdominal pain may occur, often during menstruation, and may be accompanied by nausea.

Vomiting and anal distension. Sometimes the menstrual flow increases or the menstrual period is prolonged, and the patient may also experience premenstrual spotting.

3. Intestinal or urinary tract symptoms: When tuberculosis lesions involve the rectum, sigmoid colon, bladder, and ureters, symptoms such as difficulty in defecation, diarrhea, constipation, and even periodic bloody stools, frequent urination, urgency, and hematuria may occur.

4. Infertility: This is the most common symptom of endometriosis patients. The infertility rate of patients with endometrial tuberculosis is over 60%, which may be related to changes in pelvic structure, changes in ovarian hormones, autoimmunity, etc. The infertility rate is more than 3 times higher than that of normal women.

Among all patients with endometrial tuberculosis, about 40% of them suffer from the tragedy of infertility, which has brought pain and trouble to countless families. Some patients have been found to have retroverted and fixed uterus and ovarian chocolate cysts after B-ultrasound examination.
