What are the obvious symptoms of hyperprolactinemia?

What are the obvious symptoms of hyperprolactinemia in women? This is what everyone is more concerned about. Only by grasping the common symptoms of hyperprolactinemia in women can we make an active diagnosis and treatment. Next, we will give a detailed interpretation of the common symptoms of hyperprolactinemia in women.

Hyperprolactinemia is a hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal axis dysfunction disease, the main symptoms of which are significantly reduced menstrual volume, oligomenorrhea or even amenorrhea, infertility, galactorrhea, menopausal symptoms, etc. This disease accounts for about a quarter of endogenous hormonal infertility.

Excessive prolactin levels will cause the ovaries to lose their ability to respond to gonadotropin, resulting in a significant reduction in the synthesis of estrogen and progesterone, causing estrogen, which plays an important role in the conception process, to be at a low level, directly affecting the fertility function. When the sex hormones are reduced to a certain level, the patient will also experience many symptoms similar to those of menopause.

The main clinical manifestations are amenorrhea, infertility, and galactorrhea. HP has a relatively low incidence in normal adults, mostly occurring in women, and occasionally in children and adolescents. In the past, women with amenorrhea and galactorrhea were diagnosed as amenorrhea and galactorrhea syndrome. It was not until 1970 that Frantz et al. proved the presence of prolactin-active substances in human blood. In 1971, Hwang et al. developed a method for radioimmunoassay of PRL, and it is now known that this syndrome is caused by hyperprolactinemia. Hyperprolactinemia (HP) is an endocrine disease caused by hypothalamic pituitary disorders, the most common cause of which is excessive secretion of prolactin (PRL) by pituitary prolactinomas. Because elevated serum PRL causes ovarian dysfunction in women, resulting in amenorrhea, galactorrhea, and infertility, HP is now a difficult disease that obstetricians and gynecologists pay attention to.

The above are the common symptoms of hyperprolactinemia in women. Everyone must actively grasp them. Of course, after grasping the common symptoms of hyperprolactinemia in women, everyone must actively consult the advice of relevant experts.
