Etiological classification of patients with hyperprolactinemia

In daily life, we need to pay attention to hyperprolactinemia. Many people have never heard of this disease, but once this disease occurs, the harmful consequences are very serious. In daily life, we need to pay attention to the causes of this disease and the occurrence of this disease. It is also related to pituitary lesions. So, what are the common causes of hyperprolactinemia?

1. Another phenomenon of the increase of prolactin is the large number of secretory lactocytes in the body. These cells are in an uncontrolled state for a long time, secreting a large amount of hormones. At the same time, the pituitary stalk is also oppressed accordingly, so that the body's secretion is out of control. As a result, the pituitary secretion of prolactin continues to increase, causing hyperprolactinemia.

2. Non-functional hypothalamic tumors, inflammation, pituitary stalk lesions, pituitary damage, or compression of the pituitary by tumors or growths will also lead to increased secretion of pituitary prolactin and cause hyperprolactinemia.

3. The primary thyroid function declines in the body, idiopathic amenorrhea, galactorrhea and other comprehensive symptoms occur, which lead to primary thyroid dysfunction and renal insufficiency, causing diseases, and also cause an increase in prolactin.

4. Corresponding surgeries will also cause an increase in prolactin levels in the blood. For example, artificial abortion, induced abortion of stillbirth, hysterectomy, tubal ligation, etc. can all reflexively cause hyperprolactinemia.

5. Some long-term abdominal pain will affect the body's absorption and metabolism functions, resulting in a continuous increase in the secretion of prolactin and causing patients to experience adverse conditions such as irregular menstruation or even amenorrhea.
