Common hazards of endometrial tuberculosis

Common hazards of endometrial tuberculosis

Among the many infertility diseases, endometrial tuberculosis is relatively common. It not only affects fertility, but also endangers women's health. When symptoms of endometrial tuberculosis appear, timely treatment must be carried out to avoid the occurrence of complications. The following is a brief introduction to the hazards caused by endometrial tuberculosis.

1. Pain. It is one of the most common symptoms of endometrial tuberculosis. The pain is most obvious in the lower abdomen and lumbosacral region. It often starts 12 days before menstruation and is most severe on the first day of menstruation. It gradually eases afterwards. However, as the disease progresses, the abdominal pain during menstruation will become more obvious.

2. Induce ovarian tumors. The ovaries are the favorite place for endometrial tuberculosis to "live". Whenever menstruation comes, menstrual blood will always remain in the ovaries, and the amount will increase. Slowly, a mass is formed unconsciously. With the change of menstrual cycle, the mass can be larger or smaller. The blood accumulated in the mass gradually increases. As the accumulated blood deteriorates over time and the red blood cells are destroyed, when the mass is cut open, the contents look like chocolate, which is medically called "chocolate cyst".

3. Infertility. Endometrial tuberculosis can cause pelvic adhesions, hardening or even obstruction of the fallopian tubes, abnormal hormone metabolism and immune function, leading to the retrograde movement of the fertilized egg and the endometrium being out of sync, or the retrograde movement of the fertilized egg itself being blocked, resulting in infertility.

4. Ectopic pregnancy. Endometrial tuberculosis can cause pelvic adhesions and obstruction of the fallopian tubes. The fertilized egg can only implant and develop locally, increasing the probability of tuberculosis pregnancy.
