Vulvar infection is an important factor inducing vulvar leukoplakia

Patients with vulvar leukoplakia often experience vulvar pruritus, which usually occurs intermittently and is more severe at night. The degree of itching is related to time, menstruation, climate, food, environment, and mood. Patients often scratch the vulva, causing multiple scratches, redness and swelling, and even local ulceration, fissures, ulceration, and secondary infection.

The cause of vulvar leukoplakia is very complex and is related to factors such as genetics, allergic chronic inflammatory stimulation, endocrine disorders, immune metabolic disorders and microcirculation disorders. Among them, vulvar infection is an important factor inducing vulvar leukoplakia.

Vulvar infection can induce vulvar leukoplakia

Clinically, it is found that about 50% of patients with vulvar leukoplakia are caused by vulvar infection, because the female reproductive organs are more susceptible to infection. For example, if you do not pay attention to vulvar hygiene, use unclean sanitary napkins and toilet paper during menstruation, take a bath in a bathhouse, swim in a bathhouse, and cross-infection when staying away from home, all of these can cause bacteria to grow in the perineum and spread vulvar infection.

If patients with acute or chronic vaginitis cannot receive timely treatment, inflammatory secretions will infiltrate the perineum, and long-term infection and stimulation will gradually develop into vulvar leukoplakia.

Some women who are allergic to chemical fibers choose chemical fiber underwear, which causes infection and irritation of the perineum, damage to the skin and mucous membranes, redness, swelling, ulcers and degeneration, which may lead to vulvar leukoplakia.
