What is the differential diagnosis of menopause?

Speaking of menopause, friends actually understand that this is a common gynecological disease in people's lives, and it is also one of the diseases that everyone fears. Its arrival will seriously affect people's normal life, and it will also affect people's physical and mental health. It is very unfavorable for everyone. Therefore, everyone must pay more attention to their own body, make good diagnoses in all aspects, and receive treatment in time if problems are found. So what are the diagnoses of menopause?

1. Medical history

Patients with primary menopause should be asked about their growth and development process, whether they have had viral infections or tuberculous peritonitis in childhood, and whether there are patients with similar diseases in the family. Patients with secondary menopause should be asked about their age at menarche, menopausal period, menstrual status before menopause, and whether there are any predisposing factors such as mental stimulation or changes in living environment; whether they have taken contraceptives, whether they have received hormone treatment and their response to the treatment; whether they have periodic lower abdominal distension and pain; their past health conditions, whether they have tuberculosis or thyroid disease; whether they have headaches, visual impairment, or conscious galactorrhea. If there is a history of pregnancy, it is necessary to ask about the history of abortion, curettage, postpartum hemorrhage and breastfeeding.

2. Physical Examination

1. Perform a full body check, paying attention to development, nutrition, body fatness, and intelligence; measure weight and height; check the development of secondary sexual characteristics, the amount and distribution of hair; gently squeeze the breasts to observe whether there is lactation.

2. During the gynecological examination, pay attention to the presence of abdominal and groin masses; the development of the external genitalia and whether there are any deformities; whether the uterus and ovaries are enlarged, and whether there are any masses or nodules in the uterine appendages.

A careful history and physical examination can exclude pregnancy and pseudomenopause caused by an imperforate hymen or vaginal atresia.

The above are some relevant diagnoses about menopause. I hope they can help everyone better understand and recognize this disease. At the same time, it also reminds all friends to cherish their own health, discover problems, and receive treatment in time.
