Bartholinitis is a common gynecological inflammation. Many women suffer from the disease. The early symptoms of Bartholin's gland cysts are not easy to detect, which delays treatment and affects health. Therefore, it is necessary to recognize the symptoms of Bartholin's gland cysts and detect and treat the disease as early as possible. Bartholin's gland cysts are located at the back of the labia majora where the Bartholin's glands are located. They are mostly unilateral and of variable size, usually no larger than an egg, with a noticeable bulge on the outside of the labia majora. Sometimes Bartholin's gland cysts are limited to a portion of the gland. Superficial glandular duct cysts are more common than deep glandular cysts. If the glandular duct is not closed, the size of the cyst can often change. The epithelium of the cyst wall is varied, and can be transitional epithelium, simple cuboidal epithelium or flat epithelium. Sometimes there is no epithelium at all, and only chronic inflamed connective tissue is seen. The contents of Bartholin's gland cyst are transparent mucus, rarely serous, and sometimes mixed with blood and appear red or brownish red. It is easy to be mistaken for endometriosis cyst, especially when the epithelium covering the cyst wall contains pseudoxanthomatous cells, which is more likely to be confused. After the inflammation of Bartholin's gland disappears, the pus is absorbed and replaced by mucus, forming a Bartholin's gland cyst. Moreover, some Bartholin's gland cysts have no symptoms for a long period of time, grow slowly, and suddenly occur. Therefore, it is important to pay attention to regular physical examinations to understand the symptoms of Bartholin's gland cysts and seek treatment as soon as possible if any abnormalities occur. So we also need to understand how to treat Bartholin's gland cysts. |
