What is cervical precancerous lesions?

Cervical precancerous lesions are a tumor disease that is common in middle-aged women aged 40 to 60. The disease is usually accompanied by vaginal discharge, vaginal bleeding, contact bleeding, and postmenopausal vaginal bleeding. Although this disease is very common, many people still do not know what cervical precancerous lesions are. What exactly is cervical precancerous lesions?

It is now clear that human papillomavirus (HPV) infection is the culprit for the occurrence of cervical precancerous lesions. In other words, without HPV infection, cervical precancerous lesions will not occur. HPV is mainly transmitted through sexual intercourse, and can also be transmitted through contact between the reproductive organs and unclean utensils, such as using unsterilized public toilets and bathtubs.

Many women think that only unclean sexual life can cause HPV infection. In fact, HPV is widely present in the daily environment. Even in a one-to-one sexual relationship, HPV infection can be caused through sex or contact with each other.

In recent years, the onset of cervical precancerous lesions has tended to be earlier in age, and more and more patients under 35 years old are seen in clinical practice. The reason is that many girls now start having sex at around 18 years old, and some have multiple sexual partners. Starting sex too early, having multiple sexual partners or having multiple sexual partners themselves will increase the risk of HPV infection in women.

So, does it mean that once HPV infection is detected, it means that cervical precancerous lesions will occur? This view is wrong. Being infected with HPV is like being infected with the flu virus. As long as the body's immunity is normal, most women can automatically clear the virus, just like the self-healing of a cold. However, 10-15% of women will show persistent infection, and the risk of these people suffering from cervical precancerous lesions or even developing cervical precancerous lesions will be significantly increased.

After having sex, check your cervix every year

The development of cervical precancerous lesions is a slow process. It usually takes several years to more than ten years from HPV infection to the occurrence of cervical precancerous lesions and then to the development of cervical invasive cancer. This provides people with opportunities for preventive screening and early treatment. If the precancerous lesions are diagnosed and treated in time, the lesions can be prevented from developing into life-threatening invasive cancer.

Cervical precancerous lesions have a very harmful effect on the physical and mental health of women. We must pay attention to this disease. I believe that after reading this article, most female friends will have a deep understanding that the body is the capital of revolution.
