What medicine should I use for bacterial vaginosis?

The appearance of bacterial vaginosis will make many female friends feel scared. This disease is a common disease in gynecology. Generally, patients with this disease will have symptoms of vaginal itching, which often makes patients restless and very uncomfortable. Since bacterial vaginosis is a stubborn disease with a high recurrence rate, it is difficult to treat. Only by curing this disease can patients be protected from harm. For the treatment of bacterial vaginosis, drug treatment is generally used clinically, and drugs are very critical.

Topical medication is also effective, but slightly worse than oral administration. Metronidazole 200mg, put into the vagina once every night, for 7-10 days. The medication should be used continuously for 3 cycles. The vagina can also be flushed with acetic acid solution. Trichomonas bacterial vaginosis is often accompanied by trichomonas infection in the urogenital system and intestines. It is not easy to completely eliminate trichomonas with simple local medication, so systemic medication should be used. Metronidazole 2g, taken at once; or 200mg, 3 times a day, for 7 days. Oral absorption is good, the efficacy is high, the toxicity is low, and the application is convenient. The husband or sexual partner needs to be treated at the same time. Tinidazole 2g can also be used, taken at once, which is better than metronidazole, and the side effects of the gastrointestinal tract are reduced.

Topical metronidazole 200 mg once a day for 7-10 days; or oral metronidazole 200 mg 3 times a day for 7 days. You can also use 0.5% acetic acid solution to wash the vagina. Vaginal thiocarbamide tablets, or apply estrogen, chloramphenicol, cod liver oil to the vagina. 1% lactic acid solution or 0.5% acetic acid solution to wash the vagina once a day to increase the acidity of the vagina. Estrogen replacement therapy (HRT).

Commonly used oral medicines include Atractylodes, Atractylodes macrocephala, Phellodendron, Poria, Sophora flavescens, Gentiana scabra, Tangerine peel, Plantago, Dictamni peel, and Toona root bark. In addition, the medication can be adjusted according to the specific condition and symptoms. You can also use 30 grams of Goldenrod and 30 grams of Patchouli to boil water and discard the residue, and rinse the vagina or take a sitz bath.

Different types of bacterial vaginosis require different medications. Before treatment, patients must first clearly know what type of bacterial vaginosis they have. Only in this way can patients receive symptomatic treatment. When patients are treated, remember not to be blind and carefully choose medications.
