Is pelvic effusion fatal?

If the pelvic effusion is physiological, it can usually be eliminated by itself. If it is pathological, such as caused by inflammation, a small amount of effusion can be eliminated with medication, and a larger amount of effusion can be extracted with laparoscopy. For women who have not given birth, a cesarean section can be used to remove the effusion during delivery. So, is pelvic effusion fatal?

Pelvic effusion can be divided into pathological and physiological types. Pathological pelvic effusion often occurs after pelvic inflammatory disease, adnexitis or endometriosis, and the occurrence of gynecological inflammation is closely related to the patient's bad hygiene habits, such as having sex during menstruation or within one month after childbirth; taking a bath within one month after gynecological surgery; infection caused by artificial abortion or induced labor; chronic infection lesions, etc. Pelvic effusion is not fatal, so there is no need to worry too much. To prevent pathological pelvic effusion, you should start by changing these bad habits.

The hazards of pelvic effusion are mainly as follows:

1. Impact on normal life: Since pelvic effusion often causes female friends to experience lower abdominal pain, anal distension, back pain, or sudden lower abdominal pain that gradually turns into distension and pain, which worsens during activities, it will seriously affect the normal life of female friends and bring them many inconveniences. Therefore, female friends must seize the time to seek treatment after suffering from this disease.

2. Harm to other organs: If women with pelvic effusion are not treated in time, inflammation of the surrounding tissues of the pelvis may spread and affect other organs in the pelvic area. If there is lower abdominal pain, lumbar pain, increased leucorrhea, lower abdominal tenderness, cord-like thickening during gynecological examination, etc., consider chronic pelvic inflammatory disease, and active treatment is needed to prevent the inflammation from worsening and the amount of effusion from increasing.

3. Infertility: Pelvic effusion has another major hazard, which is that it will affect women's fertility and lead to infertility. If there are chronic infection lesions, it may be inflammation of the gynecological system such as the ovaries and fallopian tubes, or it may be caused by tuberculosis or tumors. If not treated in time, it may affect the end of the fallopian tube fimbria, causing inflammatory adhesions, fallopian tube blockage, etc., leading to infertility.
