What causes bacterial vaginosis?

Bacterial vaginitis is a type of gynecological disease. In order to prevent the occurrence of this disease, we should first understand the causes of bacterial vaginitis. So what are the causes of bacterial vaginitis? Let’s take a look at the causes of bacterial vaginitis. I hope it will be helpful to everyone.

Causes of bacterial vaginosis include:

Normal women of childbearing age, under the action of endocrine hormones, have vaginal epithelial cell proliferation, and the surface cells are rich in glycogen, which is very conducive to the growth of facultative lactobacilli, which account for more than 90% of the vagina. The presence of a large number of lactobacilli inhibits the growth of other pathogens, thus causing bacterial vaginitis, and forms a normal ecological balance in the vagina.

When the estrogen level in the human body drops, the vaginal epithelium atrophies and the cell glycogen decreases, which is not conducive to the growth of lactobacilli. Bacterial vaginosis is caused by the excessive use of antibiotics or excessive flushing of the vagina with alkaline liquids, which inhibits the growth of lactobacilli.

Sexual promiscuity and frequent sexual intercourse lead to the proliferation of pathogenic anaerobic bacteria and Gardnerella, causing the imbalance of vaginal microbial ecology and the reduction of facultative aerobic lactobacilli, which eventually leads to bacterial vaginitis.

The decarboxylase produced by anaerobic bacteria can stimulate Gardnerella to produce certain amino acids, produce volatile amines, and release an unpleasant fishy odor. Amines increase the pH value and inhibit the reproduction of lactobacilli. The vaginal epidermal cells with bacteria attached fall off, increasing vaginal secretions, thus leading to bacterial vaginitis. Due to the disorder of flora, vaginal inflammation is not obvious, and the white blood cells in the secretions decrease, so bacterial vaginitis is more appropriate than vaginitis.

The above are the causes of bacterial vaginitis introduced by experts. Do you know about bacterial vaginitis? In order to prevent the occurrence of bacterial vaginitis, we should actively prevent vaginitis in our daily life and try to avoid too frequent sexual intercourse.
