How should we care for amenorrhea? Amenorrhea is a common symptom of gynecological diseases. Amenorrhea is usually divided into primary and secondary types. Secondary amenorrhea is mostly caused by acquired diseases and is easier to treat. The following will introduce the causes of amenorrhea and preventive care measures for female friends. According to traditional Chinese medicine, the causes of amenorrhea are divided into two categories: deficiency and excess. Deficiency is mostly caused by liver and kidney deficiency, weak qi and blood, yin deficiency and blood dryness, resulting in Chong and Ren channels being unfilled, the blood sea being empty, and no blood to flow down. Excess is mostly caused by qi stagnation and blood stasis, phlegm and dampness obstruction, cold stagnation and blood stasis, resulting in Chong and Ren channels being blocked, and menstrual blood cannot flow down. Modern medicine believes that the establishment of a normal menstrual cycle depends on the neuroendocrine regulation of the hypothalamic pituitary-ovarian axis. Any disorder in any link or the cyclical response of the target organ endometrium to sex hormones can lead to amenorrhea. Causes of amenorrhea: (1) Uterine amenorrhea: Amenorrhea is caused by the endometrium losing its normal response to ovarian sex hormones. Normal menstrual regulation and normal ovarian function are seen in cases of endometrial damage or adhesion, endometritis, uterine hypoplasia or absence, post-hysterectomy or intrauterine radiation therapy, or too deep curettage. (2) Ovarian amenorrhea: Amenorrhea occurs because of low levels of ovarian sex hormones and the lack of cyclical changes in the endometrium. Ovarian tissue destruction such as surgical resection or radiotherapy, congenital absence of ovaries or ovarian dysplasia, premature ovarian failure, ovarian tumors and other diseases can cause amenorrhea. (3) Pituitary amenorrhea: The main lesions are in the pituitary gland. Organic diseases or dysfunction of the pituitary gland can affect the secretion of gonadotropin, which in turn affects the ovaries and causes amenorrhea. ① Amenorrhea is caused by pituitary damage, such as pituitary ischemia, inflammation, radiation and surgery, which destroy the function of the anterior pituitary. ② Pituitary infarction: amenorrhea caused by ischemia and necrosis of the anterior pituitary tissue due to postpartum hemorrhage and shock, pituitary tumors such as prolactinoma, primary hypopituitarism, etc. (4) Hypothalamic amenorrhea: It is the most common type of amenorrhea. It is caused by hypothalamic dysfunction, which affects the pituitary gland and then the ovaries. Its etiology is complex and may be caused by organic lesions of the central nervous system, mental factors, systemic wasting diseases or malnutrition, drug suppression syndrome, endocrine dysfunction, polycystic ovary syndrome, etc., and cold stimulation during menstruation. Prevention and care of amenorrhea: (1) Avoid long-term mental stress. Long-term mental stress or anxiety can cause dysfunction between the central nervous system and the hypothalamus, leading to amenorrhea. (2) Avoid overwork. Excessive heavy physical labor or strenuous exercise can cause excessive fatigue of the body, resulting in injury, atrophy, and dysfunction of the uterus and endometrium, leading to amenorrhea. (3) Avoid cold stimulation and eating raw and cold food. If you are exposed to cold stimulation during menstruation (such as wading in the rain, working in paddy fields, taking cold showers, etc.), or eat raw and cold food, it can cause Chong and Ren disorders, endocrine disorders, menstrual blood stagnation, and blood stasis in the uterus, causing amenorrhea. (4) Avoid being too fat or too thin. Being too fat or too thin can cause amenorrhea and infertility. Therefore, you should arrange your diet properly, neither eating too much nor dieting too much (to lose weight), and maintain a body shape that is neither too fat nor too thin. |
