Symptoms of endometriosis

Symptoms of endometriosis

Endometriosis is a common disease among women. It is mainly caused by bacterial infection of the endometrium or other factors. I hope women can get timely treatment. Endometriosis can cause women to show symptoms such as dysmenorrhea, infertility, irregular menstruation and periodic rectal irritation. I hope women can pay attention to these symptoms.

Endometriosis Symptoms

Under normal circumstances, the endometrium covers the surface of the uterine body. If for some reason, the endometrium grows in other parts of the body, it may become endometriosis. Histologically, ectopic endometrium has not only endometrial glands, but also endometrial stroma surrounded by endometrial stroma. Its function changes significantly with estrogen levels. That is, it changes with the menstrual cycle, but only a part of it is affected by progesterone, which produces a small amount of "menstruation" and causes various clinical phenomena.

symptom

1. Dysmenorrhea.

Progressive dysmenorrhea is a common and prominent feature of endometriosis and can occur before, during, and after menstruation.

Some women have severe dysmenorrhea and need to stay in bed or take pain medication, or even roll on the bed or hit their heads. The pain often increases with the menstrual cycle and disappears at the end of the menstrual period. 80% of endometriosis patients have obvious dysmenorrhea symptoms.

2. Infertility.

About 50% of patients with endometriosis have infertility, and about 30-40% of patients with unexplained infertility have endometriosis.

Infertility in women with endometriosis is often caused by pelvic masses, adhesions, fallopian tube obstruction, follicular hypoplasia or ovulatory disorders.

3. Irregular menstruation

Endometriosis often causes increased menstrual volume and prolonged menstruation. It may be caused by endometrial hyperplasia, but most cases are accompanied by ovarian insufficiency. Irregular menstruation can be used as a diagnostic reference, but it is of no value for differential diagnosis.

4. Pain during sexual intercourse.

Endometriosis occurs in the uterus and rectal fossa, vagina and rectal septum, causing swelling of surrounding tissues and affecting sexual life.

5. Periodic rectal irritation symptoms.

The progressive aggravation of periodic rectal irritation symptoms is rarely seen in other gynecological diseases and is the most valuable symptom for diagnosing this disease. Symptoms include swelling, heaviness, pain, severe sensation, and frequent bowel movements after acute abdomen in the rectum, anus, and vulva.

Although endometriosis is a common gynecological disease, as long as we discover its existence in time and take the right treatment, it generally does not cause too much damage to the endometrium. If you feel that endometriosis has occurred, we recommend that you go to the hospital for treatment.
