Attention should be paid to daily care of patients after abortion

After abortion, the patient is weak and has low resistance, so special attention should be paid to the patient's daily care.

Take rest

After the abortion surgery, the patient should rest in bed for 2 to 3 days, gradually and appropriately increase the amount and duration of activity, reduce the time watching TV and reading books and magazines, pay proper attention to bed rest, and avoid engaging in heavy physical labor or working in cold water within half a month to avoid catching cold and affecting recovery.

Diet care

After abortion, patients should pay attention to increasing nutrition, eat more protein-rich foods such as fish, meat, eggs, bean products, and fresh vegetables and fruits rich in vitamins to promote early repair of damaged organs.

Observe bleeding

Vaginal bleeding after abortion will generally stop slowly within 3 to 5 days. If the patient has vaginal bleeding for more than a week, or even accompanied by lower abdominal pain, fever, turbid and smelly leucorrhea, etc., you should go to the hospital for a follow-up visit in time.

Vulva cleaning

After an abortion, the patient's cervix has not yet completely closed and the endometrium has not yet completely repaired. At this time, you need to pay attention to keeping the vulva clean and hygienic, wash the vulva with warm water every day, change sanitary napkins frequently, wash and change underwear frequently, and do not take a sitz bath within half a month after the operation to prevent dirty water from entering the vagina and causing infection.

Avoid sexual intercourse

Patients are strictly prohibited from having sex within one month after an abortion. If they have sex too soon after an abortion, the pathogens introduced into the vagina during sexual intercourse can easily cause acute endometritis, pelvic inflammatory disease and other diseases, and even cause infertility.

Adhere to contraception

After the abortion, the patient's ovarian and uterine functions gradually recover, and the ovaries ovulate on schedule. In order to avoid pregnancy again in a short period of time, contraceptive measures should be taken. Pregnancy can only be achieved after one year when the uterus has fully recovered.
