Understand the 4 harms of vulvar leukoplakia to patients

Vulvar leukoplakia is the degeneration of vulvar skin pigmentation due to lack of nutrition of the vulva. Its main manifestations are hypopigmentation, keratinization, roughness, thickening, desquamation, hardening, atrophy of the labia majora and minora, and itching, which brings a lot of trouble to patients.

1. Affect mood

Since vulvar leukoplakia can cause severe itching or even itching pain, and due to the special location of the site, it is impossible to massage and relieve it in public. Long-term treatment can cause patients to feel irritable, depressed, and have a low self-esteem, and even give up on themselves, which seriously affects the patient's normal life and work status.

2. Cause other gynecological diseases

If vulvar leukoplakia is not effectively controlled for a long time, repeated itching, keratinization, desquamation and hardening of the vulvar skin will cause a certain degree of damage to the vulva. The vulva becomes extremely fragile and sensitive, prone to bacterial infection. Patients may experience increased leucorrhea and cause other gynecological inflammations.

3. Urinary incontinence

Thickening of the vulvar skin, localized or diffuse white patches or spots, and other symptoms may cause the patient's labia majora and minora to disappear, and the urethral opening to atrophy, resulting in difficulty urinating or even urinary incontinence.

4. Affects sexual life

Severe hardening of the vulva and atrophy of the labia majora and minora can also have an adverse effect on the sexual life of the couple and affect their relationship.
