Do's and Don'ts of Dietary Adjustment for Patients with Uterine Myoma after Surgery

After surgical treatment, patients with uterine fibroids need to rest quietly to promote wound healing. Dietary adjustments cannot be ignored. Following relevant dietary taboos will help the wound heal sooner.

Two things to eat

1. Rich diet. After surgery, patients with uterine fibroids should eat nutritious and easily digestible foods, such as milk, chicken, eggs, pork, fish, tofu, etc.; and foods rich in vitamins, such as animal liver, lean pork, eggs, milk, carrots, spinach, cabbage, leeks, shepherd's purse, snow vegetable, day lily, etc. Balanced and comprehensive nutrition is conducive to meeting the body's growth needs and body recovery.

2. For elderly and weak patients, liquid food should be the main food for a period of time after surgery, which is conducive to the patient's digestion and absorption, such as lotus root powder, orange juice, etc., or lean meat or fresh fish can be used to make soup, which can not only ensure nutrition but also increase appetite. When the patient's appetite improves slightly, it can be gradually switched to a normal diet.

Two dietary taboos

1. Patients should avoid eating foods that are hot, coagulant, or contain hormones, such as longan, red dates, donkey-hide gelatin, and royal jelly, in the early postoperative period. In addition, mutton, shrimp, crab, eel, salted fish, black fish, and other hair-raising foods should also be avoided.

2. The diet of patients with uterine fibroids should not be too refined. Most people's diet is mainly high in protein and calories, and they ignore the intake of vitamins. The body's repair requires various nutrients, especially crude fiber foods, which help enhance gastrointestinal motility and prevent some complications caused by bed rest after surgery.
