Common Misunderstandings in the Treatment of Vaginitis

Common Misunderstandings in the Treatment of Vaginitis

Vaginitis is a common gynecological disease that troubles many women. Due to the lack of gynecological knowledge, patients have many misunderstandings during the treatment process. Wrong treatments are not only unhelpful in the treatment of the disease, but may also aggravate the symptoms. Therefore, it is necessary to correct these misconceptions.

1. Long-term use of various lotions to clean the vagina

When feeling discomfort in the vagina, many women buy vaginal washes to clean themselves, and some women use tap water to wash the vagina when bathing, which is not advisable. The female vagina is an acidic environment and has a self-cleaning effect. Long-term use of various washes to wash the vagina will kill the beneficial vaginal bacteria, reduce local resistance, and increase the chance of infection. If unqualified products are used, it will cause greater harm to the body.

2. Unauthorized and large-scale use of antibiotics

Some patients with vaginitis choose antibiotics for treatment. In fact, the direct consequence of excessive use of antibiotics is that the bacteria develop drug resistance, destroy the balance between vaginal flora, increase the infection rate of fungi and bacteria, etc., and are not conducive to the effective control of the disease. Long-term use of large amounts of hormones will also harm overall physical and mental health.

3. Abuse of vaginal suppositories

There are many types of vaginitis, and the causes are also various. If patients do not go to the hospital for professional examination and treatment, but choose to buy vaginal suppositories in small pharmacies for treatment, the treatment is likely to be ineffective or aggravate the condition. For example, in the case of acute trichomoniasis or fungal infection, corrosive vaginal suppositories for treating cervicitis, condyloma acuminatum, etc. cannot be used, otherwise it will cause symptoms such as increased vaginal secretions, epithelial tissue shedding, and vulvar irritation.

4. Relying solely on Chinese patent medicine for treatment

Most gynecological Chinese patent medicines have the effects of clearing heat and detoxifying, but they are slow to take effect and not very targeted, so they should not be used as the first choice of medicine. Relying solely on Chinese patent medicines cannot achieve the purpose of targeted treatment and may even delay the disease.
