What are the anti-inflammatory treatments for adnexitis?

The treatment of adnexitis is based on the principle of active anti-inflammatory. The main anti-inflammatory methods are as follows.

1. Oral or intravenous antibiotics

Patients with obvious symptoms of adnexitis should first choose oral or intravenous Western antibiotics to ensure that the residual pathogens are killed in time, prevent acute attacks of the disease, and control the progression of the disease. Commonly used antibiotics such as penicillin, gentamicin, clindamycin, etc. have a good effect on relieving symptoms of acute salpingitis, oophoritis, and pelvic peritonitis. If the patient is older and has repeated acute attacks of adnexitis, surgical treatment can also be selected if the anti-inflammatory drug treatment is not ideal.

It should be noted that oral or intravenous antibiotics must be taken in a timely, sufficient and combined manner. They can also be used in conjunction with Chinese medicine for auxiliary treatment, such as taking propolis, snow lotus, sophora flavescens, cnidium monnieri, aloe vera, etc., which have antibacterial and anti-inflammatory effects, as well as Ganoderma lucidum, ginseng, etc., which can enhance immunity.

2. Injection of anti-inflammatory drugs

Commonly used injectable anti-inflammatory drugs for adnexitis are a mixture of gentamicin, chymotrypsin, dexamethasone and normal saline. After strict disinfection of the vulva, vagina, and cervix, they are injected through the uterine cavity. The injection begins 3 days after the patient's menstruation ends, and is given once every other day until before ovulation. This continuous treatment generally requires 3 courses of treatment.
