Eating too much sweets can easily lead to candidal vaginitis

Candidal vaginitis is a common reproductive disease in women, characterized by itching and burning pain in the vulva and vagina, and even restlessness, accompanied by frequent urination, dysuria and pain during sexual intercourse. Its typical feature is thick leucorrhea that appears like curd or tofu dregs. Its occurrence is related to eating habits. A fondness for sweets can lead to candidal vaginitis.

Candida albicans exists in the oral cavity, upper respiratory tract, intestines and vagina of normal people. Generally, there are few in the normal body and it does not cause disease. It is a conditionally pathogenic fungus. The pH value of normal human vagina is 3.7-4.5. The weak acidic environment of the vagina can maintain the self-cleaning function of the vagina. However, when the weak acidity of the vagina changes to 5.5, it is most suitable for the growth of Candida albicans, which can multiply in large numbers and cause symptoms of vaginitis.

Studies have found that people with repeated Candida infection have blood sugar or urine sugar levels significantly higher than normal levels; after patients reduce their daily sugar intake, they rarely have Candida vaginitis infection or recurrence within a year, indicating that sugar intake is closely related to Candida infection.

Candida vaginitis is caused by biphasic bacteria, which grow well in an acidic environment. 30% of pregnant women and 10%-20% of non-pregnant women have this bacteria in their vagina, but obvious symptoms will only appear when their systemic and local vaginal cell immunity decreases. Especially when women have high blood sugar or urine sugar due to eating too much sugar, the glycogen in the vagina increases, the acidity increases, and yeast multiplies in large numbers, which can easily lead to the disease.
