Endometrial thickening may occur in patients with functional uterine bleeding

Endometrial thickening is a manifestation of the disease, and active treatment is needed for endometrial thickening and functional uterine bleeding. If it is not treated actively, it will affect conception.

What is the reason for endometrial thickening? The normal endometrial thickness is 5-10MM. The thickness of the endometrium changes with the menstrual cycle. During the ovarian cycle, when the follicles in the ovaries develop and mature, under the action of estrogen secreted by the ovaries, the endometrium proliferates, which is the proliferative endometrium. After ovulation, under the action of progesterone and estrogen secreted by the corpus luteum of the ovary, the proliferative endometrium secretes, which is the secretory endometrium. After the corpus luteum in the ovaries degenerates, due to the decrease in the amount of estrogen and progesterone, the endometrium loses its support and becomes necrotic and flaky, which manifests as menstruation. At this time, it is called the menstrual endometrium. The thickness of the endometrium is not constant.

The endometrium, also known as the uterine mucosa, refers to the layer that makes up the inner wall of the uterus of mammals. It responds to both estrogen and progesterone, so it can change significantly with the menstrual cycle. Progesterone can cause the endometrium to undergo special changes in early pregnancy, or change the nature of the endometrium, giving it the ability to produce decidua. Endocrine disorders in women can cause uncomfortable changes in the body and can also cause many diseases, such as irregular menstruation, abnormal leucorrhea, and dysfunctional uterine bleeding.
