Symptoms of severe cervical erosion

Cervical erosion is not an independent disease, but a symptom. It can be divided into three types according to the area of ​​erosion: mild, moderate, and severe. Mild cervical erosion generally does not require special treatment, but severe cervical erosion (the eroded area exceeds 2/3 of the total area of ​​the cervix) may cause serious consequences such as female infertility if not treated in time. Its main manifestations are as follows:

1. Abnormal secretions

It mainly refers to abnormal vaginal discharge in women, including increased discharge, yellow color, sticky texture and odor. Some women may have blood in their discharge, and even contact bleeding and irregular vaginal bleeding. Therefore, if a woman is diagnosed with severe cervical erosion, she should try to avoid sexual intercourse.

2. Pain

Severe cervical erosion symptoms such as pain are rare, but when the pathogens affect the cervix more deeply, it can cause chronic paracervical connective tissue inflammation, and patients may experience lumbar pain, pelvic prolapse, and dysmenorrhea, which worsen during menstruation or defecation. If the inflammation spreads to the main ligament, sexual intercourse may be painful, which in turn affects sexual life.

3. Lower abdominal discomfort

After some women develop severe cervical inflammation, symptoms of lower abdominal discomfort will be more obvious, and some patients will also have symptoms such as lumbar pain.

4. Bladder irritation symptoms

When women experience cervical erosion, cervical inflammation may spread or directly extend to the bladder triangle, causing women to experience bladder irritation symptoms such as frequent urination and painful urination, and sometimes secondary urinary tract infection.
