How to Self-Diagnose an Ectopic Pregnancy

How to Self-Diagnose an Ectopic Pregnancy

Ectopic pregnancy, also known as ectopic pregnancy, refers to the implantation and development of a fertilized egg outside the uterine cavity (such as the fallopian tube, uterine horn, abdominal cavity, ovary, etc.) under the influence of certain factors. Because these parts are narrow and thin-walled, they cannot fully expand and cannot accommodate the growth and development of the fertilized egg or even the embryo. They are prone to rupture and bleeding, and improper treatment can endanger the patient's life. Therefore, women who have sex and are preparing for pregnancy should master the key points of diagnosing ectopic pregnancy:

1. Menopause

Most patients with ectopic pregnancy have a brief history of amenorrhea before the onset of the disease, about 40 days. However, some patients have low levels of human chorionic gonadotropin, which is insufficient to maintain the continuous thickening of the endometrium, resulting in vaginal spotting, which is mistakenly believed by patients to be menstruation.

2. Abdominal pain

The incidence of abdominal pain exceeds 90%, which often indicates ruptured bleeding of ectopic pregnancy. It is often manifested as sudden pain and tearing. Some patients may also experience nausea and vomiting. When ruptured bleeding of ectopic pregnancy stimulates the diaphragm, the pain may radiate to the scapula. When the amount of bleeding is large, the patient's anus will feel heavy and swollen, and he will want to defecate.

3. Syncope and shock

Syncope and shock are mostly caused by acute intra-abdominal bleeding and severe pain. Ruptured bleeding of ectopic pregnancy can cause patients to experience symptoms such as dizziness, pale complexion, low blood pressure, cold sweats, etc. After severe bleeding, patients may experience syncope and shock. If not treated in time, the patient's life may be in danger.

Tips-After an ectopic pregnancy ruptures and bleeds, call the emergency number immediately. Before the ambulance arrives, you should keep your head down, feet high, stay quiet, and use blankets and other items to keep warm.
