Patients with pelvic inflammatory disease should not lose weight excessively

Excessive weight loss and deliberate dieting by patients with pelvic inflammatory disease will lead to insufficient nutrition, which will reduce the body's resistance and aggravate the symptoms of pelvic inflammatory disease. The female reproductive system has a natural defense function, which can resist the invasion of bacteria under normal circumstances. Only when the body's resistance is reduced or the natural defense function of women is damaged due to other reasons will pelvic inflammatory disease occur. Therefore, patients with pelvic inflammatory disease should not blindly lose weight excessively.

Some patients with pelvic inflammatory disease are worried about gaining weight, so they simply rely on not eating to lose weight, which puts the body in an extremely weak state. Their mental state is directly affected and they become easily fatigued. If they do not replenish nutrition in time, their resistance will drop sharply, which may cause various types of infections, easily leading to repeated attacks of pelvic inflammatory disease and worsening of the condition.

While dieting, patients with pelvic inflammatory disease may wish to eat more high-protein foods, such as lean meat, soy products, vegetables and fruits, which can meet the needs of the human body without increasing weight. Adults need 2.5 grams of fat per kilogram of body weight. Adults weighing 50-60 kilograms need to consume 125-150 grams of fat per day. Eating some meat, eggs, milk and other foods at every meal can basically meet the needs.

The most commonly used method to measure obesity is "waist circumference divided by hip circumference". A normal index for women is 1.0, and a normal index for men is 0.8. If the female index is below 0.7, the fat content is low. Patients with pelvic inflammatory disease do not need to work hard to lose weight if they have reached the standard body shape.
