Under what circumstances should abortion not be performed?

Artificial abortion is a surgical method to terminate pregnancy. It can be divided into early pregnancy termination and mid-term pregnancy termination according to the time of termination. To terminate early pregnancy, that is, before 14 weeks of pregnancy, medical abortion, vacuum aspiration and forceps curettage can be selected. To terminate mid-term pregnancy, that is, after 14 weeks of pregnancy, hospitalization for induced abortion is required.

Artificial abortion is suitable for those who want to terminate pregnancy due to contraceptive failure or personal illness. However, if a pregnant woman encounters the following situations, it is not suitable to have an artificial abortion temporarily.

1. People suffering from acute infectious diseases

Patients suffering from various acute infectious diseases, or chronic infectious diseases in the acute stage, or serious systemic diseases such as heart failure, obvious hypertension, tuberculosis with high fever, and severe anemia, etc., cannot withstand surgery.

2. People with acute genital inflammation

Suffering from acute inflammation of the reproductive organs, such as vaginitis, severe cervical erosion, pelvic inflammatory disease, etc., or acute attack of chronic pelvic inflammatory disease.

3. Acidosis caused by pregnancy reaction

If the acidosis caused by severe vomiting during pregnancy has not been corrected, it is not advisable to perform artificial abortion.

4. Those who have a fever within 4 hours before abortion

If the body temperature is above 37.5℃ twice within 4 hours before the operation, it is not suitable to have an artificial abortion.
