Describe the symptoms of uterine fibroids

According to statistics, 50% to 60% of patients with uterine fibroids have no symptoms. Generally, the symptoms of patients with uterine fibroids include:

1. Abnormal uterine bleeding: Abnormal uterine bleeding is the most common clinical manifestation of uterine fibroids, and about 30% of patients will have this symptom. For example: prolonged menstruation, long-lasting dripping, heavy menstrual flow, or spotting before menstruation.

2. Abdominal pain: Generally, uterine fibroids do not cause abdominal pain symptoms, but if the fibroids are too large, compression symptoms may occur, and the pelvic cavity will feel compression, distension, pain and downward pain. In addition, because the bladder is in front of the uterus and the rectum is behind, when uterine fibroids compress nearby tissues, it may cause symptoms such as frequent urination, urinary incontinence, ureteral edema, constipation and bloating. It may also cause poor blood return to the lower limbs, and then cause lower limb edema and varicose veins.

3. Menstrual pain: Generally, the menstrual pain caused by uterine fibroids is not too serious. If the menstrual pain is very severe, you should consider whether it is complicated by adenomyosis.

4. Anemia: If uterine fibroids cause excessive menstrual blood flow or hemorrhage, it is easy to cause anemia.

5. Infertility: Uterine fibroids may cause infertility by affecting sperm transport, fertilized egg implantation, abnormal fallopian tube movement, and abnormal uterine blood flow.

6. Spontaneous abortion: The chance of spontaneous abortion in patients with uterine fibroids is 2 to 3 times higher than that of normal women.
