Dysfunctional uterine bleeding in adolescence is also called functional uterine bleeding, which refers to uterine bleeding caused by ovarian dysfunction. It usually occurs in women between the ages of 13 and 18. Its main symptoms are irregular vaginal bleeding, more or less menstrual flow, and prolonged menstruation. Dysfunctional uterine bleeding during puberty is called adolescent functional uterine bleeding, of which anovulatory type is the most common, accounting for about 80% to 90% of functional uterine bleeding. Clinical manifestations: Dysfunctional uterine bleeding during adolescence accounts for about 20% of all kinds of functional uterine bleeding. Irregular menstrual cycles are common in the first two years after menarche, and most patients can gradually adjust themselves. However, when there is heavy uterine bleeding, prolonged bleeding, excessive bleeding, or disordered cycles, it is functional uterine bleeding during adolescence. There is often a period of amenorrhea before bleeding. Anemia occurs due to long-term heavy uterine bleeding, and symptoms such as dizziness, weakness, loss of appetite, palpitations, nightmares, and insomnia may occur. Generally, there is no history of dysmenorrhea. There is often anemia during examination. Gynecological examination shows that the internal and external genitalia are within the normal range, the cervix is loose, the uterus may be slightly larger and soft, and there may be unilateral or bilateral ovarian cystic enlargement. Adolescent functional uterine bleeding is a type of anovulatory functional uterine bleeding, which falls into the category of abnormal uterine bleeding. Generally, adolescent girls do not have organic lesions in the reproductive system. In adolescent girls, because the central nervous system is not yet fully functional in regulating the menstrual cycle, the level of follicle-stimulating hormone is higher than that of luteinizing hormone, and the pituitary gland is not sensitive enough to the ovarian feedback. |
