Dysmenorrhea is a common gynecological disease. It brings serious harm to our patients. In order to reduce the occurrence of dysmenorrhea, we should first understand the symptoms of dysmenorrhea. So what are the symptoms of dysmenorrhea? Next, we ask experts to introduce the symptoms of dysmenorrhea. Symptoms of dysmenorrhea: Traditional Chinese medicine calls this disease "menstrual abdominal pain". It can be divided into deficiency and excess, and clinically it can be divided into four types: qi stagnation and blood stasis, cold and dampness stagnation, qi and blood deficiency, and dampness and heat. (1) Qi stagnation and blood stasis type: symptoms include abdominal distension and pain one or two days before menstruation or during menstruation, which is resistant to pressure, or accompanied by chest and breast distension, or scanty menstruation, or menstruation that is dark purple with clots. The pain is relieved after the clots are discharged and disappears after the menstruation is over. The tongue is dark purple or has petechiae, and the pulse is stringy or slippery. Treatment should be to regulate qi, remove blood stasis and relieve pain. (2) Cold-dampness stagnation type: symptoms include cold pain in the lower abdomen a few days before or during menstruation, pain relieved by heat, more pain when pressed, scanty menstrual flow, dark menstrual blood with clots, or fear of cold and body pain, greasy white tongue coating, and deep, tight pulse. Treatment should be to warm the meridians, dispel cold and dampness, and resolve blood stasis and relieve pain. (3) Qi and blood deficiency type: symptoms include dull pain in the lower abdomen one or two days after or during menstruation, or a hollow feeling in the lower abdomen and genitals, a preference for massage, scanty menstruation, light-colored and thin menstruation, fatigue, or a sallow complexion, or poor appetite and loose stools, a pale tongue, and a thready and weak pulse. Treatment should be to replenish qi, blood, and relieve pain. (4) Damp-heat descending type: symptoms include lower abdominal pain before menstruation that is resistant to pressure, a burning sensation, or lumbar pain; lower abdominal pain at other times, which is aggravated during menstruation. Low-grade fever fluctuates, dark red menstrual blood, thick and clotted, thick yellow vaginal discharge, short and yellow urine, red tongue, yellow and greasy coating, and stringy or weak pulse. Treatment should be to clear away heat and dampness, resolve blood stasis and relieve pain.
