Don't let uterine fibroids get to you!

What are the causes of uterine fibroids? There is no consensus on the tissue origin of uterine fibroids. Some people believe that they are caused by the proliferation of immature uterine wall smooth muscle cells, while others believe that they are caused by smooth muscle tissue in the uterine blood vessel wall. Let our experts briefly introduce the causes of uterine fibroids to you! I hope it will be helpful to you!

Experts on the causes of uterine fibroids introduce to you:

1. Uterine fibroids are solid tumors that can grow in any part of the uterus, either singly or in multiples. They can vary greatly in size, with dozens to hundreds of fibroids growing at the same time. Small fibroids are generally spherical, but when they grow larger or multiple fibroids fuse together, they become irregular in shape. The texture of fibroid tissue is harder than that of the uterus, and the location of uterine fibroids can be easily touched from outside the uterus under direct vision.

Myomas do not have capsules. They compress the surrounding muscle wall fibers to form pseudocapsules. The boundaries between the two are clear. There is a loose mesh gap between the myoma and the uterine muscle wall. When the muscle wall is cut, the myoma will often jump out from the muscle wall, and it is very easy to peel the myoma from the pseudocapsule. The blood supply of myomas mostly comes from the pseudocapsule. The surface of myomas is light and shiny, and the cut surface is grayish white. A vortex or woven structure can be seen, which is densely arranged.

2. Microscopically, uterine fibroids are mainly composed of spindle-shaped smooth muscle cells and unequal amounts of fibrous connective tissue. Smooth muscle cells are uniform in size and arranged in a fence-like or whirlpool-like structure. The cells in the longitudinal section are spindle-shaped, relatively uniform in size, and have rod-shaped nuclei; the cells in the cross section are round or polygonal, with a round nucleus located in the center and rich cytoplasm. The amount of smooth muscle cells and fibrous connective tissue in the fibroid is related to the hardness of the uterine fibroid. Submucosal fibroids protruding into the uterine cavity mechanically compress the endometrium, causing the endometrium to become thinner, the glands to be flattened and close to each other, the glandular epithelium to be cubic or flat, and the secretory phase reaction after ovulation is not obvious or the endometrium is incomplete.

The above is the cause of uterine fibroids briefly introduced by the experts. I believe you already know it. If you have any questions about uterine fibroids, please consult our online experts. We will serve you wholeheartedly!
