The main symptoms of hydatidiform mole

The main symptoms of hydatidiform mole

The main symptoms of hydatidiform mole include abnormal vaginal bleeding, abnormally severe early pregnancy reactions after menopause in women of childbearing age, and abnormally rapid uterine enlargement. These situations require medical treatment as soon as possible for a clear diagnosis. If hydatidiform mole is not treated in time, it may cause serious complications, such as invasive hydatidiform mole or choriocarcinoma.

1Abnormal vaginal bleeding

Patients with hydatidiform mole often experience abnormal vaginal bleeding, which is the earliest and most common symptom. It usually presents as painless, large amounts of bloody discharge or intermittent, continuous bleeding, which is characterized by dark brown color, and sometimes mixed with grape-like tissue. If this symptom is not taken seriously, it may lead to hemorrhagic anemia or even shock. Patients with such symptoms should go to the hospital's gynecology department as soon as possible for a gynecological ultrasound examination and HCG hormone level test to confirm whether it is a hydatidiform mole.

2. Abnormal and severe early pregnancy reaction

Hydatidiform mole can cause a significant increase in HCG in the patient's blood, often causing nausea, vomiting, dizziness and other early pregnancy reactions, and the severity of the symptoms is sometimes far more severe than normal pregnancy. The patient may also experience obvious breast tenderness and fatigue. These symptoms are easily confused with normal pregnancy. If you suspect there is a problem, you should consult a doctor in time based on other physical signs and medical history.

3. The uterus is too enlarged or not in line with the gestational age

Another characteristic of hydatidiform mole is that the uterus grows abnormally fast, usually significantly larger than a normal pregnancy of the same gestational age, and the enlargement process is also accompanied by tenderness. Some patients may also experience abdominal distension or heaviness. B-ultrasound examination can more accurately observe whether there is typical grape-like tissue inside the uterus, which can further assist in diagnosis.

4Other associated symptoms

Some patients may develop lutein cysts during the process of hydatidiform mole due to the dramatic fluctuation of hormone levels. The increase in size may cause abdominal distension and more obvious abdominal pressure discomfort. If the condition is delayed, it may also lead to infection, fever, and even spread of lesions to other organs.

When the above symptoms occur, patients should go to a regular medical institution for professional diagnosis and treatment as soon as possible. After the diagnosis of hydatidiform mole, the lesion is usually removed by aspiration or curettage, but HCG levels must still be monitored regularly after the operation to confirm whether it is completely removed, and flexible chemotherapy intervention should be accepted if necessary. In daily life, pay attention to avoid "three-no" clinics, maintain good personal hygiene, and receive follow-up visits as recommended by the doctor.

If symptoms related to hydatidiform mole appear, do not delay and go to the hospital in time to avoid worsening of the disease and affecting your health, and cooperate with the doctor in a timely manner for standardized treatment and follow-up management.
