Prevent high blood pressure in winter! Wu Mingzhu: Drinking 3 kinds of chrysanthemum tea can protect your heart

The temperature drops suddenly and your blood pressure becomes unstable. Be careful not to develop cardiovascular diseases. Chinese medicine practitioners point out that high blood pressure is caused by the imbalance of yin and yang in the human body, which leads to the rise of liver fire. We should focus on overall adjustment to balance the qi, blood, yin and yang. In addition to developing a good habit of measuring blood pressure on a daily basis, it is recommended that you can also drink chrysanthemum tea and perform acupoint massage to help lower your blood pressure.

Chinese medicine practitioner Wu Mingzhu pointed out that most cases of high blood pressure are asymptomatic and are therefore often ignored, hence the name "invisible killer." A small number of hypertensive patients may experience headaches, dizziness, heaviness of the head, tinnitus, palpitations, stiff neck pain, shoulder pain, facial flushing, numbness of hands and feet, etc. In severe cases, they may even have nausea, vomiting, convulsions, lameness, and coma.

TCM Syndrome Differentiation and Treatment of Hypertension Caused by Diet

Basically, high blood pressure is a disease caused by diet. According to traditional Chinese medicine, the cause of hypertension is mostly due to the imbalance of yin and yang in the liver and kidneys. Once the liver yang is hyperactive, it may even cause stroke, sudden death and other regrets in severe cases. The most common TCM syndrome differentiation and treatment include the following:

1. Hyperactivity of liver yang: This is common in patients with early-stage hypertension. The main symptoms include tension and irritability. Due to the rising liver fire, they often feel dizzy and have dry mouth. Some people may have constipation problems. Treatment method: suppress yang, clear heat and reduce fire. Commonly used prescriptions are Longdan Xiegan Decoction and Zhengan Xifeng Decoction.

2. Yin deficiency and Yang hyperactivity: patients are often anxious, lack of sleep or poor sleep quality, thus damaging liver yin and kidney yin. Treatment method: Mainly nourishing Yin. Commonly used prescriptions include Tianma Gou Teng Yin and Qiju Dihuang Wan.

3. Phlegm-dampness obstruction: common spleen and stomach dysfunction, poor transportation and transformation ability, which will form phlegm-dampness and phlegm turbidity over time, such as people who like to eat cold food, often constipated, and lack of exercise for a long time. Treatment method: Mainly focus on strengthening the spleen and eliminating dampness. The commonly used prescription is Wen Dan Tang, and you can also take Si Shen Tang to strengthen the spleen and stomach.

4. Blood stasis: It is common to eat too much greasy food, have high blood fat and poor metabolism, which will cause meridian obstruction. Causes blood stasis and meridian obstruction.

Control blood pressure by taking both Chinese and Western medicine and pay attention to medication safety

Chinese medicine practitioner Wu Mingzhu emphasized that the most important thing to prevent cardiovascular disease is to "control blood pressure." Once diagnosed with high blood pressure, it is recommended to first adjust lifestyle by losing weight, improving diet, and exercising regularly. If blood pressure still cannot be controlled within the target value, medication will be added.

However, the public is reminded that patients who are already taking antihypertensive drugs must remember that there will be interactions when taking Chinese and Western medicines together. Therefore, Chinese herbal teas must not be taken with Western medicines, and the two must be taken at least 1.5 hours apart to be safe.
