The study found that the intestinal bacterial ecology of fat mice that ate more fructooligosaccharides was quite similar to that of thin mice. Researchers pointed out that fructooligosaccharides can regulate intestinal bacteria and increase a hormone in the intestine that controls satiety, thereby increasing satiety and avoiding overeating.

Fructooligosaccharides are found in various fruits and vegetables, and are relatively rich in vegetables such as onions, asparagus, and burdock.

St. Martin's Hospital nutritionist Wang Xiaomei added that fructooligosaccharide is a "prebiotic", which is simply the "food" for intestinal probiotics.
