Stop indulging in fat! Many people know that obesity can easily lead to cardiovascular disease and chronic diseases. The latest data from the National Health Service shows that obesity can also increase the risk of cancer, especially uterine cancer and breast cancer in women. The public is urged to manage their weight and develop healthy living habits. The 2012 cancer registration data released by the National Health Administration found that the obesity rate of patients with uterine cancer is higher than that of patients with other types of cancer. Fat people are prone to cancer! Be careful of the five major cancers caused by obesity: uterine cancer, breast cancer, liver cancer, prostate cancer, and thyroid cancer Obesity is the root cause of all diseases, even cancer is no exception! The National Health Administration analyzed the "2012 Taiwan Cancer Registry Database" and found the correlation between obesity and cancer. Among patients with uterine cancer, as many as 60.6% are obese (BMI≧27) and overweight (24≦BMI<27); the obesity and overweight rates of female breast cancer cases are about 47.4%; the obesity rate of liver cancer patients is about 51.4%; and the obesity and overweight rate of colorectal cancer patients, which has won the first place in the number of cases for seven consecutive years, is also 45.4%. If we further compare and analyze the relevant data from the "2012 Taiwan Cancer Registry Database" and the "2012 Health Behavior Risk Factors Telephone Survey", we can find that compared with those with normal or underweight BMI values, overweight and obese people are more likely to develop uterine cancer, female breast cancer, liver cancer, prostate cancer and thyroid cancer. Data from the National Health Administration shows that the standardized incidence rate of uterine cancer in overweight and obese people aged 15 and above is 27.5 (per 100,000 population, the same units for the following incidence rates), which is 2.9 times the standardized incidence rate of 9.5 for normal and underweight people, the largest difference. The second is female breast cancer. The incidence rate of obese people is 106.6, which is 1.6 times that of those with normal or too thin weight. For other cancers such as prostate cancer and thyroid cancer, obese people have a 1.3 times higher risk of developing cancer than those with normal weight, and a 1.2 times higher risk of developing liver cancer. Obesity increases insulin resistance, accelerates inflammation and aging in the body, and thus increases the risk of cancer. Obesity causes cancer! Hunter-style diet + lack of exercise, high risk of cancer Xie Mingjia, deputy director of the Thyroid E-Clinic and director of the Endocrinology and Metabolism Department of Changhua Christian Hospital, said that there are three mechanisms by which obesity increases the risk of cancer: First, obesity will increase insulin resistance, increase insulin concentration, accelerate inflammation and aging of the body, and thus increase the risk of cancer; second, obesity will increase the body's inflammatory index, increase oxidative free radicals in the body, induce carcinogenic factors, and increase the risk of cancer in the long run; third, if the fat cells of obese people are dysfunctional, they will stimulate the secretion of hormones, disrupt the endocrine balance, and lead to the occurrence of cancer in the long run. In addition to obesity, unhealthy diet, lack of exercise, smoking and drinking and other lifestyle habits and patterns are also common carcinogenic factors. Chiu Shu-ti, director of the National Health Administration, said that the Chinese people's diet tends to be "hunting-type" and they cannot live without meat. Coupled with insufficient intake of fruits and vegetables, excessive consumption of high-calorie foods, and lack of exercise, they are not only prone to obesity in the long run, but also increase the risk of cancer. Developing good eating habits, eating more high-fiber fresh fruits and vegetables and less meat can help prevent cancer. The World Health Organization says more than 30% of cancer deaths are avoidable. Director Chiu Shu-ti reminded that if people do not want to be diagnosed with cancer, they should develop healthy living habits, exercise more, avoid consuming sugary drinks, limit the intake of high-calorie foods, reduce the consumption of high-salt and salted foods, eat less red meat and processed meat products, eat more fresh fruits and vegetables, drink more water or unsweetened tea, do not smoke, drink less alcohol, and do not have the idea of taking nutritional health foods to prevent cancer. It is more important to get regular health check-ups and cancer screenings. |
