Stop watching and listening to lose weight and dispel 5 diet myths

On the road to weight loss, many people have experienced failure, and for many women it is a process of continuous efforts. However, when it comes to maintaining their figure and losing weight healthily, many people actually have wrong ideas without realizing it. The Huffington Post in the United States pointed out the five most common misconceptions made by dieters, and urged the public not to harm their bodies due to improper weight loss.

1. Can you eat more high-quality calories without getting fat?

Many people believe that whole wheat and whole grains are nutritious foods and good for health, so it doesn’t matter how much you eat. In fact, even healthy and high-quality calories should not be eaten in excess, unless the amount of exercise is large enough to consume the calories eaten. Otherwise, even healthy foods can put people in danger of obesity.

For a 170 cm tall, 68 kg woman who walks 2 to 3 days a week, the appropriate daily intake is about 4 servings of vegetables (1 plate/serving), whole grains (1 slice of bread or half a bowl of brown rice/serving), protein (3 ounces of meat/serving), and high-quality fats (1 teaspoon/serving).

2. Can I lose weight by not eating starch at all?

Completely refusing to eat starch, eating only vegetables and fruits, or adopting the meat-eating diet or apple-eating diet are the most serious misconceptions about weight loss that have existed for a long time. Not only can they not really reduce fat, they can even cause serious malnutrition in the body. Insufficient dietary fiber intake can also cause excessive accumulation of waste and impurities in the body, increasing toxin accumulation.

When using a picky eating diet, it is easy for your weight to stagnate and not go down, and you enter a wall period. It is also easy for your psychological pressure to increase due to eating the same food for a long time, making you feel that losing weight is becoming more and more painful, and you may even experience symptoms such as headaches and nausea. Eating a balanced diet and keeping portion sizes within the right range is the best way to lose weight.

3. Is starvation an inevitable process?

Actress Big S once said that she felt a sense of accomplishment when she heard her stomach growling because of hunger, and she could feel that she was getting thinner. However, the proper way to lose weight does not require such painful starvation. Many people adhere to the principle of not eating after noon and stop eating after lunch. However, when the brain receives the message of hunger but cannot absorb calories, it will burn existing muscles to provide energy for the body. When eating the next meal, the body will automatically store all the calories as fat in the body to prevent the next "famine".

Eating small meals frequently is the best way to lose weight. First, divide the calories needed for a day into 4 or 5 portions. Don't eat too much each time. Eat a meal every 2 to 3 hours to avoid starvation and overeating.

4. Do you just eat a lot to vent when you are in a bad mood?

If you rely solely on dieting to lose weight, you may end up bingeing because you can't bear the psychological pressure, or seek comfort by bingeing when you encounter pressure at work or in life, which will make it easier for you to fail in your weight loss plan.

Keeping a detailed record of what you eat every day will help you observe your eating habits and portion sizes. In addition, making a small note of your mood before and after eating will also help you understand under what circumstances you tend to eat uncontrollably. Using exercise to vent your emotions would be a better way.

5. Are the quick weight loss remedies found on the Internet effective?

It is almost every woman's dream to find a way to quickly and permanently get a slim figure. However, in reality, there is no shortcut to losing weight. Too extreme methods will greatly increase the chance of gaining weight again, and will also cause headaches, moodiness, depression, etc., which are not good for both physical and psychological health. Fasting and vomiting are both counterproductive weight loss methods.

Post a piece of note paper everywhere in your home to remind yourself to lose weight healthily and beautifully. Do not use any weight-loss methods that are not scientifically proven, or take any medicine that claims to achieve rapid weight loss.
